About Alicia Batson
Windsong is owned by me, my husband and brother. We all live and work in Nashville, TN and love experiencing The Great Outdoors. We feel fortunate to live in such a beautiful place as Middle Tennessee where every day life isn't so far from nature.
Alicia Batson purchased this Cottage in 2016
Why Alicia Batson chose Beersheba Springs
My brother and I have spent a lot of our leisure time camping, hiking and rock climbing in the Savage Gulf State Natural Area. When I met my husband, we continued that tradition and feel very fortunate to now own a cabin in Beersheba Springs, Tn overlooking the area where we have so many great memories. Beersheba Springs is also special because of its rich historic legacy with many of the original homes, log cabins and the original Beersheba Springs Hotel still standing and in use. We enjoy sharing the special experience of spending time in Beersheba's beautiful natural and historic area with friends and family. It is a place to create memories.
What makes this Cottage unique
There are so many amazing things to experience at Windsong Cottage, but to name just a few.....a 180 degree panorama view of Savage Gulf where you can witness the changing seasons, Beersheba Swings, handmade Appalachian furniture and crafts, hand cut stone fireplaces, set in an historic community dating back to the 1800's, excellent cycling in the area whether you are a climber or more of distance biker, swimming at waterfalls, and learning about Tennessee wildflowers, geology and fauna.

This is a beautiful home in a beautiful place! We loved every detail of this special house.
This home was perfect for our family vacation! It is made from wonderful old barn wood, and it is a special house with unique architecture and unusual features. The views from the large glass windows and the huge deck are stunning. The great room was perfect for gathering, and we loved using the porch swings, the table on the deck, and the screened porches as well. We cooked all our meals in house and found the kitchen to be well-stocked with cooking utensils and beautiful handmade pottery and dishes.
The setting in the woods is peaceful and private. We enjoyed hiking and swimming at nearby Greeter Falls, Stone Door, and Blue Hole, but we also loved just taking in the view at Windsong.
We definitely plan to return for another visit!
Valentine's in the clouds @ Windsong
While the weekend weather called for steady rain, when we drove up to the house on a clear Friday evening you could tell it was going to be a special treat. Soft light was shining out through the abundance of full-height windows and the smell of logs burning in the fireplace invited you inside. The soaring exposed ceilings and log-framed walls along with details of combining the historical structure together with modern efficiency makes this a true gem.
We were having a reunion of long-time close friends from around the country, and this home didn't disappoint. Three couples stayed in the private bedrooms (bunk beds were not utilized) each with it's own fireplace, bathroom and balcony. We fed 18 persons from the well-furnished kitchen for dinner and brunches, and even though it poured rain all day Saturday, it never felt crowded inside the large living and dining area. The deck overlooking the scenic ridges and valley below is sprawling, with room for everybody! As a bonus, every screened in porch has a special "daybed swing" unique to Beersheba, which is perfect for naps on rainy afternoons with breeze blowing through the trees!
Overall our visit at the Windsong cabin exceeded our expectations in all ways - as one of the couples stated, the weekend was "epic"! The area is chock full of colorful local history, friendly people, beautiful old homes and cabins and wonderful natural scenery. Alicia was an excellent host, very responsive and with local personal assistance if needed - we couldn't have asked for anything more.
Regarding this post, I want to point out for future readers, that we have since this time, specified that our cabin is not approved for parties and events. Thank you.
Fantastic getaway with unreal views
Windsong is the perfect getaway. It is nestled off a gravel road and has unbelievable views. Better than most in Gatlinburg. Perfect setup inside for 3 families. Would 100% recommend.
Perfect place for family fun!
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful place! Our family had a special Christmas getaway and made great memories!
A spectacularly beautiful, matchless, and stunningly quiet respite for the soul.
We stayed in October 2017- really nice stay! Instantly one of our favorite cabins!
Beersheba Springs is off the beaten path, and great place to unwind away from the grind.
The Cabin is very rustic(with modern amenites) and very secluded, and the View is incredible off the deck. Not a single house/cabin in 180 degree + view from the deck. Great sunrises every am and literally above low-lying clouds! The view is incredible from the deck as well as inside the home, or from the screened in porches.
Its close enough to hit Nashville or Chattanooga if you want a day trip for city life.
Bring groceries with you as there are not many options for nearby food/restaurants.
We did have an issue with one of the smoke alarms (batteries)while we were there, which was responded to quickly.
We had a t-mobile phone which could not get service, but a Verizon phone which did. We could receive/make calls via the cabin internet with either phone.
Would definitely stay again!
