Thank you for a wonderful experience! My husband booked this for our 2nd wedding anniversary. What a trreat!

We loved how this cabin brought luxury to the woods with the outdoor TV and hot tub. This was a trip to remember! We hope to come back and stay again one day, maybe in the summer so we can enjoy swimming in the lake. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

Wonderful 2 week stay at Paul's cabin

  • 5 of 5

My husband, two teenage sons, and I had a wonderful, relaxing stay at Paul's Cabin. The cabin is well maintained and in a beautiful setting. We spent our time, kayaking, fishing, exploring the waterfalls around the lake, tubing, entertaining friends and family, and taking day trips. The pontoon was available for use – just had to coordinate with the folks in the Lodge, but it never posed a problem. Even on rainy evenings, the porches provide cover so that you can enjoy the outdoors and crush your opponents in Euchre or Catan! When it wasn’t raining, we enjoyed the fire pit or sitting on the dock, looking at stars and the Milky Way and trying to spot shooting stars. If the boys needed a video fix, there is a large variety of movies to watch with the projector. Overall, the Cabin provided a much-needed break from the hustle and bustle of day-to-day-life.

Although the ride down to the cabin is interesting, nearby family members were able to navigate the road and enjoy time at the Cabin. When my nephews visited with their younger children (4 and 2), however, there was no checking out on the parenting! It’s not a daycare setting so keep an eye on the little ones. The Wi-Fi at the Cabin is adequate for checking emails if you need, but don’t look to download/stream – but that’s not why you’re there, is it? If you have Verizon, you’ll have no problem with texts and calls. We, however, have AT&T and once I resigned to the fact that I couldn’t communicate in a reliable way, I was OK.

We took day trips to Ithaca, Syracuse, and Cooperstown (no easy way to get there, just take Rt 20 and drive.) Although the drive into Skan was a bit longer than we had wanted (about 25 min), it is such a beautiful ride that you don’t mind. On your way into town, make note of where 1820 House is located. Get a table outside and enjoy the food and the sunset! For pizza, Valentine’s and Vernak’s were really good. Of course you have to go to Doug’s Fish Fry in Skan! Best thing you can do is READ Paul’s binder – full of useful info!

Overall, it was a great two weeks. My sons couldn’t believe that the time passed so quickly and were not ready to leave. MyMy family was refreshed and, begrudgingly, ready to venture into the upcoming school year. I could not recommend the Cabin enough. Paul and Mike, the property manager, were helpful and friendly. If we rent on Skan again, we will definitely look into the Cabin.

INCREDIBLE

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I came to Skanteatles for his cousins October wedding at the Mandana Barn. We came in a few days early to celebrate our 5 year anniversary kid free - IT WAS INCREDIBLE. We loved every second, detail and can't wait to come back. The cabin was very roomy and clean. The views were gorgeous. Great place to visit with a large group. An SUV / 4 wheel drive is definitely needed. We loved walking and driving on the road. We kayaked on the lake - which was crystal clear! Enjoyed the hot tub in the crisp cool air. I highly recommend a fall trip to the cabin - to enjoy the beautiful leaves. We visited a winery on the lake and the town was very cute! Highly recommend! We cannot wait to come back.

Fun, Relaxing, and Beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

If you have never vacationed somewhere and felt that you were at your home away from home, then you need to come to Paul's Cabin! Paul's Cabin deliveries on so many levels. Right as you walk in the door you are greeted with a tray of goodies that include playing cards, the ingredients to make smores, and a book that includes tons of ideas for fun activities and restaurants. All of the exposed wood beams look amazing, truly a log cabin! The Three tiered deck on the cabin is stunning, the top deck is lined with rocking chairs and the lower deck has a campfire. With no TV you and your family can bond around the campfire that is built into the lower deck. You genuinely feel like you are out in the woods camping, but with all the amenities and great views!

Map

Car: necessary

Experience nature's solitude thru miles of seasonal roads around gorges, streams and oak forests.

Boat, swim, fish, water ski or jet ski on Skaneateles spring fed glacier etched lake. Limestone floor means no mud or gunk -- one of the most beautiful lakes in the world.

Bicycle along East Lake road past farms, elegant estates and vineyards.

Take a 30 minute boat ride from our cabin to downtown Skaneateles, shop, buy some ice cream and eat it in the Village Gazebo. Life is good.

We love the outdoors, but we're really not the 'camping' types. In the summer of 2003, we found this beautiful piece of property and decided to build an elegant cabin where we could enjoy nature graciously. Our image was to put a quality place in the midst of nature where privacy, beauty and serenity could be appreciated.

We like to call it ... Rustic Elegance.
