11,000 square foot Victorian Inn, close to downtown, decks, barbecue, views

Completely private room and bath remodeled for your relaxation and enjoyment. West Facing, bay and downtown views. Circa 1900. Walk to Little Italy, Downtown and even Balboa Park. Common area kitchen is for your use. This historic Victorian has wide halls, and 10 foot ceilings that speak to a different era. The Hawthorne Inn looks exactly the same as when it was built. Even the interior hallways have not been altered. Up the street is the luncheonette, "Hob Nob Hill", established in 1943. A complimentary bottle of wine will be waiting for you to say thank you for staying. We hope you enjoy your stay.

We are centrally located - five minutes from the airport. The santa Fe station is so close you can go directly to Disney Land without even getting in your car. World Famous San Diego Zoo is a ten minute drive.

We purchased the Hawthorn Inn because it is a National Landmark,and state historical site. For the first time in decades rooms are now available to be leased on a nightly and weekly basis.

The Hawthorn Inn was built as a "working man's" hotel. As such it is one of the few remaining of its type. Films such as "Mr. Jones" have been shot on location, and while it was at one time in great disrepair, a succession of owners dating back twenty years have each added to is revitalization.
