We had a great time at this location! The outdoor kitchen is awesome!! We grilled several nights.
The house was just the right size for our family 8. We could have slept 2 more people. The grounds were very private with lots of trees surrounding us. The pool was nice however the finish on the sides and bottom are very rough so we needed aqua shoes so as to not scrape our feet. The outdoor area is just perfect for relaxing and grilling. There’s a outdoor TV for watching your favorite program and a stereo system which sounds amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed being outside. Very comfortable for 8-10 people. I would recommend this property!
Wanderlust is a charming home in the Watercolor neighbhood! Great outdoor pool area!
Wanderlust is a great house! The master on the main floor is particularly lovely; the home's decor is very nice. It’s finest attribute is the outdoor area. Although the pool and attached spa are small, there was adequate space for adults and kids to relax and have fun. The outdoor kitchen area has a large gas grill, two big chiller drawers and an ice machine. The outdoor furniture is extremely comfortable, and the beach umbrellas and chairs that were provided were great quality as well. We didn’t use the amenities at Watercolor, as we preferred the short drive to nearby Seagrove Beach. We rented bicycles and enjoyed cruising through the beautiful neighborhood. It was a quick bike ride to Seaside, as well.
Wanderlust is a family friendly house. We were disappointed that the HVac system was very noisy. Also, first floor had to be kept very cool in order to cool the bedrooms upstairs. The stacked washer/ dryer in a tiny closet was a major inconvenience for us. We had wet swimsuits and towels for seven people, and could only do small loads of laundry.
All in all, our family had an excellent vacation!
Nice Home - but had issues
We have vacationed in Watercolor for the past 5 years and each time have rented a different home. We chose this particular house this year for 3 main reasons: 1) pool; 2) location; 3) price. The pool by far was the biggest selling point since we'd be sharing the home with another family, both of which have small children. Our intent was to swim before and after the beach each day, the kids were REALLY looking forward to this. When we arrived the pool was as hot as a jacuzzi, an adult could barely get in it, let alone children. The problem persisted for at least the first 3 days of our 6 day stay. We were in contact with the property manager and while being responsive, was not addressing the problem in a timely manner. No pool maintenance company was ever sent out to inspect the equipment and the property mgr was only attempting to adjust the temperature thru some sort of a phone app. She claimed she was contacting the equipment manufacturer as well but never heard anymore about that except for this mere mention. We were never given updates, we had to constantly ask. On the 3rd day we wrote again, informing them the pool is still too hot to swim. The response we got was "WHAT! Its 93 degrees." Somehow we were supposed to be happy the pool had cooled from 106 to 93....you would hardly put small children in a pool at that temperature, especially after a day in the sun. We vented our frustration and even requested the owner extend us some sort of a credit for this inconvenience....It was ignored and has been ignored to this day. We are reasonable people, things break, we get it. It was how the issue was handled that was disappointing, We rented this house for the use of the pool, I want to be perfectly clear. And it couldn't be used for at least half our stay. On top of that we could not get the tv outside working the first 3 days. Instructions were sub par and we later discovered the correct tv remote dead in the wrong drawer. We were told their AV guy was out of town. Sorry, that's inexcusable also...have a backup when he's traveling (yes he called but someone needs to be on site). Outside of these issues it is a very nice house, inside and out. The AV guy eventually showed up and was very pleasant and apologetic also.
Best rental home we have stayed at along 30A and we've stayed in plenty of great homes over the years! Our spring break was early this year which gave us some chilly weather but the outdoor oasis with heated pool/hot tub and fireplace kept us loving the outdoors! Also loved that there is woods to the rear and right side of the house which offers plenty of privacy. The interior of the home was well appointed with comfortable furnishings and tons of storage space! The owners were very accommodating to our requests and anticipated our needs throughout the week. We hope to return in the future!
Come back soon and thank you for taking the time to write us a nice review!
Major issues first few days
The home was lovely! Apparently decisions were made to update electronics on the day of our arrival. Not ok. No outside TV entire trip. Issues starting outdoor fireplace multiple times. Pool and hot tub not warm until 2nd day due to electronic upgrades. Jane made amends with 2 bottle of wine and water bottles with a gift card to Target. Spent a ridiculous amount of money with so many issues. Very disappointing vacation.
Thank you for your feedback. Thank you also for letting everyone know that the home is lovely!
The GOOD NEWS for all future guests is we have upgraded electronics for their enjoyment! Smart TVs, Yamaha sound system (inside and outside), a house Netflix account, an awesome Yamaha sound bar in main living, Apple TV and more!
Unfortunately, with outdoors here in Florida comes lizards (Yes, a lizard got inside the TV and fried it!) and it was under warranty so it did take several days to get replaced and we are sorry about that...truly. You did have trouble lighting the fireplace, but we came to help light it every time you let us know you wanted it on. Since your stay, we have hired the gas company to come and make it easier for guests to manage :)
As you can see from all of our 5 star reviews, this is an unfortunate blemish and we do our best to take care of EVERY guest/s and make them feel welcome. We want everyone to have fun, make fond memories and want to come back!
Thanks again for visiting Wanderlust in Watercolor Terry. Thank you for your candid feedback.
Perfect Beach Home
I came here for a weekend get away with my daughter. Because of the layout of this home and the amazing laid-back nature of watercolor I was completely able to unwind.
We had 4 beautiful sunny days at the beach. We grilled outside, swam in the heated salt water pool and relaxed in the hot tub.
We biked everywhere. I loved biking to Almavida to get coffee in the morning with amazing views of the ocean ! My daughter loved their pastries .. The beds were comfy.
The house seemed brand new. But my daughter wanted to spend every waking minute we were not at the beach outside !
We will be back! Wanting to return to Watercolor really soon.
