This 1926 restored Craftsman bungalow is walking distance to the many restaurants, bars and breweries that the historic neighborhood of Seminole Heights has to offer. We designed it to be vintage and eclectic to match the vibe of the neighborhood. A 6-7 minute drive to downtown Tampa, this fun neighborhood is the most vibrant in the city.
The Old Ola Bungalow was built in 1926 as a duplex. We've kept it that way and you'll be staying on the left side in Unit A. This eclectic space was designed by my husband and I to be funky and fun. There are lots of places to hang out including a retro front porch bench and vintage patio set on the large back deck overlooking the expansive fenced in backyard. The bathroom tile was completely restored to bring it back to its retro feel. We even have playing cards and games available in the living room. We have a Keurig machine in the kitchen with pods, creamer, and sugar provided in the drawers underneath the machine. We also have a French press if you prefer to use your own coffee. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a fridge, range, microwave and toaster.
Feel free to use storage spaces, closets, common areas, back deck, front porch and use the kitchen to its fullest with everything in it! There are also hangers and luggage racks in the bedroom closet available.
We do not live on the property, but reside close by in the neighborhood so may be available if needed. A lock box is used to check in and out.
Hi there! My husband and I are residents of Old Seminole Heights and we love our neighborhood. We're contributing to the growth and development of Seminole Heights by restoring 1920s bungalows. We love to travel, eat good food and drink good beer.
Sloan Floyd purchased this bungalow in 2016
I spent a comfortable 2 weeks in this bungalow.
The host Sloane provided all of the essentials including a large supply of bedding, towels, toiletries and condiments.
The neighborhood included a nearby park and river, making for enjoyable walks.
I recommend this location if you are considering a Tampa stay.
The Old Ola Bungalow was lovely. It's an adorable half side of a bungalow, lovingly restored in a cool historic neighborhood in Tampa. The owners live in the neighborhood so are very familiar with the area. They recommended some great restaurants for us. The bed is really comfortable and the linens super soft. We really enjoyed our stay at this VRBO.
Thank you Sloan for taking the time to put together such a lovely home away from home.
Everyone is flocking to Seminole Heights! We are an artsy and eclectic neighborhood known for our creative restaurants and funky drinking establishments. Chef Greg at The Refinery (who also runs Fodder & Shine) has earned multiple James Beard semi-finalist positions as best chef in the South. Chef Ferrell at "The Rooster and the Till" is also as a James Beard semi-finalist. We also boast three breweries with a fourth on the way. We've provided a folder with our recommendations.
Uber and Lyft are usually only 5 minutes away. There's a bus stop on the corner of Florida and Hillsborough. There are street cars that travel around Downtown (just 6-7 minutes away), Ybor City (also 6-7 minutes away) and Channelside districts. There are bike rentals stations downtown. You can walk in the neighborhood, depending how far you want to go. The two closest restaurants (which also have bars) are .4 miles away, or about a 7 minute walk.
