Bachelorette Party

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Matthew's place this weekend for my bachelorette party because of the proximity to the vineyards and overall size of the house to accommodate my guests. We had a total of 8 people and each person got their own bed, which was perfect! The charming house was tucked away and very private. The fire pit outside was a huge hit and perfect for getting together and roasting marshmallows. Matthew graciously provided plenty of dry wood and even a fire starter!! We had plans to go to a number of vineyards but since there was the wine highway event going on this weekend, finding transportation was extremely difficult. We had lunch reservations at Monteluce winery which was only 8 minutes away and ended up staying the whole day due to fear of not getting reliable transportation after drinking. The house was the perfect place for hanging out afterwards and playing games. Matthew was very prompt in his response. He sent an entire floorplan when I was concerned about number of rooms and beds and even let us check-in early to drop our luggage off which was a HUGE plus! Would definitely recommend staying here!

Perfect for our girls trip!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Matt's house for a bachelorette trip, and it was perfect. It gave us enough room to spread out as needed, or all hang out together. Matt was so quick to respond with any questions I had. He even ordered an iron for me and had it shipped to the house as we arrived! I could not ask for better service. The house was kept very clean, and we did not find one thing out of place. Keep in mind, that although it is close to town, you will still need to think about transportation. This is something we were glad that we planned ahead of time!

Comfortable convenience...

  • 5 of 5

We rented for a wedding at Juliet Chapel, just three minutes away. For anyone using the chapel and needing some convenient retreat space or staging space, this is your "no-brainer" rental. Easy access to historic Dahlonega. Easy access to Monteluce winery (but DO NOT trust Google Maps to get you to the latter). Love the fire pit area. Wish we'd had more time to use it. Loved the metal roof, the front porch swing, the hardwood floors on the main level, the wood burning fireplace (with a really good draft and starter paper + kindling). Appreciate the stocking of firewood. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of bathrooms, each with its own unique footprint. The basement can serve as an almost stand-alone apartment. Washers, dryers, dishwasher, refrigerators (note the plurals) were reliable and adequate. I'd recommend some additional standardization of the linens and less drinks/pizzas in the refrigeration. (We brought or purchased locally our own preferred beverages and food; thus, what was stocked for sale was just in the way.) I would also warn anyone coming to the home for the first time at night to BE CAREFUL making the turn onto Loyal. The place is wonderfully secluded, but for the first thirty feet of Loyal Drive, there is a pond on one side and a creek on the other and a single lane between. (Reflectors on the road might be helpful.) This was a common concern for basically all five drivers to the location in our party. The bedrooms are on three levels, but six of the bedrooms (if you count a very small room with just a bed and night table, there are actually seven bedrooms) are fairly easily accessible for people with handicaps. (We had four such people in our group.) The drive serves as a "ramp" for the two bedrooms downstairs. The master has essentially no steps. Three other bedrooms on the main level are fairly easy to reach via four steps. Of course, young people (we had three in their early 20s) will love this place with the rec room, deck, back yard, and fire pit area. So, gather the gang --the more diverse the better as this place has something for everyone-- and GO. You'll be glad you did.

Beautiful house - LOTS of space!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a wedding in Dahlonega and it was wonderful. It’s less than 10 mins from downtown and was really nice and quiet. Could easily have held the wedding in the beautiful yard and fire pit area. I highly recommend this house if you have a large family or event planned in the Dahlonega area.

Awesome accommodation for special occasions

  • 5 of 5

The house was more than you could imagine. A perfect setting for our wedding weekend at the Juliette Chapel. Close enough for us to go back and forth as needed. Originally we were anticipating max capacity of 20 people accommodating 4 different families. It ended up with 14 people comfortably. Plenty of amenities-towels, extra blankets, linens, kitchen well stocked. Coffee and creamer/sugars readily available. Also a plus was a generously stocked refigerator with water and drinks for a small fee. The highlight was the game room and the outdoor area with wood burning and gas firepit. Our nights were spent out there listening to music and really enjoying each other. I couldn't have found a more perfect setting for our very special event. Best of all was our host Matt who was readily available when we had any questions or issues requiring his attention. I would go back in a heartbeat. The location is ideal as getting to and from Dahlonega center and other nearby attractions is very convenient. Thank you for an amazing stay from all of us!
