Overview

About the property

Cabin, Studio + Other (See Description), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)

My husband and I found Volcano Village about 20 years ago. It was our dream to purchase property there, and we did just that! We built a small magical little cabin. For many years we enjoyed it ourselves from time to time, and on occasion our friends and family would go and stay at the cabin. Each time we always heard the same things... How beautiful it was, how inspiring it felt, and how they just never wanted to leave. So a Few years ago we put it on the market as a vacation rental.

The cabin is a huge cabin/studio, it offers a very large bathroom with a Large soak tub, a stand up shower, full washer & dryer, full size kitchen, dining area, sitting room with a view of the forest and a gorgeous gas fireplace. We just put in a brand NEW queen size pillow top mattress that makes you feel like you are really sleeping in the clouds and though there is a large picture window just above the bed so as you lay there you can keep your eyes on the Big Dipper.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Genevieve & Rev,

Thanks very much for your note! We had a wonderful time in the Big Island and loved your cabin. This was the highlight of our trip. The cabin was private, peaceful, well decorated, and very relaxing! We hope to have an opportunity to stay here again in the future. We will definitely recommend your cabin to our friends. Although we decided not to bring our laptop this time, the availability of wireless internet was a strong consideration when selecting your cabin.

Rainforest retreat

  • 4 of 5

This is a spacious cabin nestled in really tall ferns that feels like you're in a tree house. The ceilings are high, large windows look out onto lush vegetation, full kitchen and huge bathroom. There's a gas fireplace to take the chill off and it's a short drive to the national park. We enjoyed our stay very much. There was no cell phone service, but there is a land line and there is wifi. We would stay again and will recommend to friends.

Beautiful, spacious and cosy cabin, wish we'd stayed longer!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a lovely stay in the cabin, it felt very luxurious and spacious and was very well equipped to make us feel at home. We loved the huge bathroom and bath and the bed with the view of the stars was very special! Perfect place to come back to and relax in the evening after exploring. We just wish we'd stayed longer!!

Splendid, romantic, get away cottage

  • 5 of 5

This little cottage in the rain forest is absolutely perfect. Upon arriving one feels like home, and it is surrounded by hapuu ferns and Ohia trees. The cottage is immaculate. The gas fireplace is perfect for the chilly mornings in Volcano Village and the soaking tub is perfect after a long day of hiking. It is within minutes from the park enterance. It is very private and secluded. If you have time try to enjoy the songbirds on the lanai.

Charming and cozy

  • 4 of 5

This was a lovely cottage to put our feet up and relax after a day of driving and walking about. Without the detailed instructions on how to find it, you would never know it exists. We were happy to have the privacy and quiet.

The cottage was super clean and very welcoming.

Charming cottage, great location

  • 4 of 5

We had a great stay at this cottage, which was perfectly located to visit Volcano park. The cottage itself was quite lovely - especially the fire place. It's a bit difficult to find if arriving in the dark, so go slow or arrive while light.
