Great Condo

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at this condo. The place is much nicer than the photos. The only issue we had is that some friends were staying next door at the sister hotel, the Villa Del Arco, and they were not allowed to come use our pool. The pool at Estancia is much nicer, and you don't have to fight for chairs, however when they came over, somebody working for the hotel came over and kicked them out. It would be nice if guests could use the pool when they are with people staying at Estancia.

That said, fantastic condo, great service, highly recommended.

LOVED our stay at Villa La Estancia!

  • 5 of 5

We rented the 2 bedroom villa for 8 girls, which was more than enough space for us. We all have nothing but good things to say about this villa. The views are incredible of course and the master bathroom is perfect for a lot of girls getting ready at the same time! :-)

Robin was very easy to work with and I received prompt responses every time I emailed her with questions. We opted to use the transportation company she recommends to and from the airport and we also used them another night to go to Flora Farms (highly recommend visiting that restaurant!!). They were on-time and very friendly (they even had cold towels and bottled water for us!).

All of the staff at La Estancia were very helpful too. We booked activities at the concierge as well as ate breakfast at the restaurant two mornings, and ordered room service. We walked to the market that serves all 3 Villas and bought some snacks and fruit. The prices weren't too bad considering you didn't have to take a cab to get there.

We would take a cab to the marina and it's only $10 each way for a van with 8 girls. One night we were at The Office and we opted to walk back on the beach. I believe it only took 10 minutes.

We all commented that we loved the location because it's close to town, but you definitely get the resort feel with the pools and restaurants on-site. We checked out the other Villa's pool and it had a lot of kids and just seemed chaotic. Villa La Estancia Pool is much more mellow and laid back, which we loved. The cocktails at the pool are so tasty too!

We will definitely be returning to Villa La Estancia for our next trip to Cabo!

Fantastic with older kids

  • 5 of 5

The combo of spring break in Cabo and staying at this top floor villa was perfect. We have been to other areas of Mexico with our children (14, 13 and 10), and by far, Cabo felt the safest and most welcoming.

Two large bedrooms were fantastic for kids. Our youngest opted to sleep on the pull out couch in the living room.

The balcony is the most amazing part of this unit. The view is gorgeous (it is the main photo for this listing). There are two lounge chairs that were the most coveted seats for our family. The breezes that you get up there, particularly later in the afternoon and evening, were wonderful. Every time that we were in the condo (breakfast, showering, happy hour), we were all out on the balcony that extends from the master, to the living, to the guest room. It runs the full length of the condo.

We spent some time on the balcony watching our kids in the pool. You couldn't do that with younger ones, but ours were fine.

We had friends stay the Palmar and thought the properties were very, very different. The Palmar had tons of little kids, looked super crowded around the pool, and everything was super wet.

Estancia's pool area is beautifully landscaped, and chairs are set up in different areas, which ends up offering much more privacy and a luxury feel to the property. Our friends from Palmar came into our property several times, but NOTE they cannot bring in their towels from the other properties. That is a huge red flag and the pool manager will tell them they need to go up and register as a guest on your account. It took about 5 minutes to do this, no big deal.

We bought breakfast food from Walmart (simple, easy trip), usually ate lunch at the pool and then went into Cabo for dinners.

The beach is considered "non-swimming" but we swam. My impression is that basically from Estancia to the east, the waves/undertow were too dangerous to swim. However, from Estancia to the west (to Lands End), it was safer and super fun. For the first 3 days we were there, the waves were huge (some about 10'). My kids and I went out into the swimming area with other avid beachgoers and had a ball. You just had to pay attention to where you were in relation to where the waves were breaking. The beach is steep, and within a handful of steps into the water, you are over your head. For our entire week stay, the "red" do-not-swim flag was posted at Estancia. However, no-one stops you.

We stayed at this beautiful unit at La Estancia in February. Can't say enough good things about it. As soon as we entered the place we were amazed at how gorgeous and updated the kitchen was. The granite countertops and new stainless appliances made cooking a pleasure. The living and dining areas were spacious and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed - pots and pans, plates, glassware and utensils. The bedrooms were very nicely decorated and incredibly large. And don't get me started on the bathrooms and closet space! There were three full baths and the master bath was huge. The large closets in both bedrooms were a great benefit as there was no need to leave our luggage laying out.

The balcony is really large and you can't tell from the pictures. We loved eating outside for all of our meals at the large table and the wet bar with fridge was perfect for mixing up drinks and storing beverages. The best part is the gorgeous view. We spent quite a bit of time on the balcony lying on the plush lounge chairs and even saw a few whales in the water. Incredible!

Anither benefit of this hint and really any of the units at this resort is probably the fact that you are close to the pools. We were just an elevator ride away from them. Other resorts we found that we had quite a bit more of a trek. Also, this was nice bc we could see the older kids in the pool if we went up to our room.

We were especially grateful that there were some buckets and shovels for our youngest to use on the beach and wave boards that the older kids could use. Honestly, that made the trip for the oldest kids. They had never rode waves before and it's what we ended up doing every afternoon.

Robin was great to work with! Communication was a breeze and she even helped us line up transportation to and from airport when we booked which was one less thing to worry about. The transportation company picked us up in brand new Yukon XL or maybe is was a suburban. But it was a pleasant ride with lots of space and comfort.

We've been to many other resorts but I can't imagine not returning to this one and Robin's unit in particular. It was paradise!

Excellent condo in prime location

  • 5 of 5

We went to Cabo for a girls weekend and couldn't have been happier with our stay at this condo. Robin was easy to work with prior to booking and we arrived and got settled without a hitch. The rooms were spacious and luxurious and the view from the deck is incredible. The beds were fantastic and we loved the layout of the place. The location is ideal for those without a car. It was an easy walk to the market (I'm sure the prices might be higher but compared to taking a cab to Walmart we were fine with it), we loved the spa and having the two other hotels on either side gave us more options when it came to dining. We didn't have any issues with our stay and would definitely return.

La Estancia Cabo San Lucas..WOW!!!

  • 4 of 5

The condo was absolutely beautiful. Staff and food were great. The service around the pool was very slow but their willingness made up for it. Weather couldn't have been better. Overall a very enjoyable week. My only complaint was we had family staying at Del Arco & the Palmer and for some reason I thought we would all be able to hang out during the day and enjoy them at each other's pools. Not the case at all. If you are not staying at the resort you can not sit by the pool & no guests allowed. It really put a damper on the week. We had to hang out on the beach. Just wish we would have known this before booking. We thought all 3 of the resorts were affiliated and we could hang out at any of them if you had someone staying there. Each resort has it bonuses and are beautiful but if going with a group of people make sure you stay at the same resort... Especially since the wifi is awful and cell phones do not work. My friend ended up with an $1100 cell phone bill. That's why we kept ours off. So contact you cell phone provider before you go but expect even then for them to work half the time. We do love Cabo & Estancia is gorgeous... I want to thank Robin so much for the use of her Villa. She was a delight to work with. It was our first time renting from an owner, but it couldn't have went more smoothly. We will definatly be back with fewer people.. Thanks again for everything!!!
