2 Bedroom, 2.5 Bath Cozy Cottage near Frederick & Harpers Ferry-Now Wifi & Roku
Relax and get away to the countryside! Short drive to historic sites of Harpers Ferry; explore the shops, art and fine food restaurants of Frederick; take a scenic drive to award winning wineries and breweries! This cozy, two bedroom, cottage is ideal for a family or group of friends. Each bedroom has a private bath while living room pull-out sofa can accommodate two additional guests. The house has a fully equipped kitchen, laundry room, outdoor seating and porches.
Built in 1886, this cottage was originally part of a large dairy farm. The main property often referred to as Right is Right Farm, was previously owned by the Lovell family who lived there for over three generations. The cottage remained vacant since the early 1970's and had one bath and a second winding service staircase in the back. The original wood siding, shutters, plaster, trim and wood flooring was fully restored.
Guests park and enter the property from a shared driveway to the rear of the home. Entrance into the house is through the back door in the kitchen. Guests have access to the backyard and front yard of Cottage property.
Jefferson is a rural town, surrounded by bucolic views of farms and open sky. Its' central location: 15 min. from Frederick, Harpers Ferry, Brunswick train station and an hour from Washington DC, has made this quaint little town a perfect, quick get away.
Since the cottage was originally part of the neighboring property, it is very close to barns and out buildings. As tempting as they are to investigate, please note that this is the neighbors private property. Please stay only on Cottage property.
I live in a neighboring town but please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I will be available through a phone call or text message anytime and I can be at the cottage within 20 minutes if there are any problems.

About Mary Ann Winner
We have been residents of Lovettsville, VA for 6 years. Dan is a contractor specializing in historic rehabilitations. As an interior designer, Dan and I have worked together to design and sell many historic properties in Maryland. Once our family started to grow, we spent 2 years looking for an ideal farm and community to raise our family. We knew our search was over when we stumbled upon a 200 year old farm in the quaint, rural town of Lovettsville, VA.

The house was beautiful and clean. They did a great job stocking the house with anything you could think of. It definitely felt like home.
My family and I are in love with this home. It is very elegant and cozy.
I rarely give a 5 star rating but this home is special. It seems this old home was recently remodeled. The owner has shown great attention to all details. The new kitchen appliances, furniture, and decor are beautiful. The closest vineyard was a 20 minute drive.
There is no wi-fi. I don't want to seem like a spoiled brat, but I wish the water pressure was stronger while taking showers. Otherwise, everything was perfect. We are definitely going back.
Raja- Thank you for the 5 star review! As you are one of our first guests on our opening weekend, I was anxious to hear about your experience.
Good to know about the water pressure. As this cottage is newly renovated, current shower heads are equipped with water saving capabilities, maybe this is the case or just the norm in this town.
**As of Jan. 2018 we have added Wifi and Roku for television. **
We also provide a dvd player so stop by the local Redbox and pick up a movie. We are slowly growing our own family friendly selection of games, books and dvd's for our guests use.
Raja, you may not be as spoiled as you think, since the water pressure and no wifi did not discourage you from adding an additional night to your stay! Looking forward to your next visit! -- Mary Ann
We had the privilege and good fortune of being the first guests at this home. It is beautiful. The attention to detail in every room and the perfect integration of history, antiques and modern conveniences make this place a real treat. It is only 10 minutes from Harper's Ferry and is in a very quiet location, one that allows for real rest. And the owners are welcoming and accommodating. Don't miss this one!
