Able to sleep up to fourteen people, Closer to Home is well suited for a multi-family vacation, a reunion of friends, a bachelor or bachelorette party, or any other sizable gathering. Even if you have a full house of guests, though, you’ll never feel cramped or crowded. While the four-bedroom cabin features areas large enough for everyone to gather, it also offers plenty of space for you to savor private time.
The spacious great room makes up much of Closer to Home’s main floor. Oversize windows and a towering cathedral ceiling give it an open, airy ambience. Sunlight streaming in during the day and the glow of the stone-surround fireplace on a winter’s night accentuate the luster of the wood-planked walls, floor, and ceiling. Whether you’re curled up an armchair with your tablet surfing the web (Closer to Home has free WiFi) or nestled on the leather sofa watching a movie on the flat-screen TV, you’ll feel right at home.
The great room’s dining table is large enough to seat ten, and there’s room for three more at the adjacent breakfast bar. In addition, tables on the deck and in the yard encourage you to dine alfresco. You can cook outdoors as well, on the cabin’s charcoal grill. Of course, there’s a fully equipped kitchen indoors too. Appliances, gadgets, cookware, tableware, gleaming counter space: Everything you need is right here.
A second gathering spot, the family room, is downstairs. In addition to two couches, a second fireplace, and another flat-screen TV with cable, the family room boasts a full-size pool table. There’s also a card table, so be sure to bring a deck and a few favorite board games.
If your game gets a bit too intense, step out onto one of Closer to Home’s two decks for some fresh air. Both decks are furnished with multiple rockers, so that everyone can sit outside and gaze at the Smoky Mountains while the crisp breeze rustles through the sun-dappled trees. For a truly pampering experience, luxuriate in the lower deck’s hot tub, which can accommodate up to six people at once. A long soak is especially blissful after a day on the go; your weary muscles will thank you!
Closer to Home has four bedrooms, two on each floor. All four bedrooms include a flat-panel HDTV, a full bathroom, generous storage, and doors that open onto a deck. Two of the bedrooms are master suites, each with a sumptuous king-size bed. The other two bedrooms have a pair of queen-size beds, so that each of these rooms can sleep up to four people. If you’re vacationing with another family, you can put all the kids in one or both of these bedrooms; every night will seem like a slumber party to them! If you have additional guests, one of the sofas opens into a fifth queen-size bed.
Closer to Home’s other amenities include cable TV, plenty of parking, and a washer and dryer. Because the cabin is located in the Black Bear Falls Log Home Community, in the summer you’ll be able to swim in its heated adult and children’s pools. After your swim, you can dry off on a poolside chaise or keep cool at a table on the covered patio.
Perhaps the most attractive aspect of Closer to Home is its proximity to the area attractions. In less than fifteen minutes you can drive to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community, the Guinness World Records Adventure, Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, the Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster, the Anakeesta outdoor entertainment center, mini golf, restaurants, shops, and more.
Luscious mountain views, comfortable furnishings, and easy access to the local hot spots: Closer to Home has it all—and don’t you deserve it all? So book your stay today… before someone else beats you to it!
**Please Note: Closer to Home is located in a construction zone, expect loud noise**
Please remember that Gatlinburg and the surrounding area is a mountain town with snow and icy conditions during the winter. Inclement weather can affect driving and parking conditions regardless of the property, driveway, or roads. We strongly recommend four-wheel drive and/or chains during the winter months.
