There'e also a hidden queen-sized Murphy bed in the Living Room -- where you can fall asleep looking out to the lights on Maui, 9 miles away. We're 40 feet from the water here, and the whale watching is incredible in the Winter.

WE first purchased at the Wavecrest for the tropical beauty and serenity, the way my jaw dropped when I first saw the view from the A-303 Lanai. - Like being in a tropical 3rd world country while still on U.S. soil - The friendly people, the gentle breezes, the relaxation, and the views. It is our getaway from the rest of the world.

We're 40 feet from the ocean with three island views of Maui, Kahoolawe, and Lana'i. The whale watching from the lanai is great from December to April. Watch gorgeous, colorful sunrises over Maui each morning, & local fisherman using local techniques to catch the family dinner in the bay in front of A-303.

Lovely, peaceful stay

This was our first trip to Molokai and we really enjoyed this condo. Loved sitting on the balcony watching the whales. The kitchen is well-stocked with pans and utensils. We had a bit of a hiccup at the beginning of our stay, but John contacted us quickly and made it right. If you decide to visit Molokai, keep in mind that it is not as commercialized as the other islands. We arrived on a Sunday evening and the only place to get groceries was a small convenience store. But we truly enjoyed the peace and lack of traffic. It is now our favorite island!

View is nice, when the door works.

This condo was fine. When we got there, the lanai door was stuck. We called the owner and he said the people before us reported it as broken, but yet it still wasn’t fixed. When we said we wanted it fixed to enjoy the lanai, John replied “well what do you want me to do about it?” Not a response you expect from a owner. The view from the lanai was the best part, as you can see whales breaching. After a few phone calls with the owner, he finally sent someone to replace the screen door on the lanai, but it wasn’t just that in need of repair. John was great about communication (a little too much info) before arrival, but not as good after we arrived.

Owner's Response: I’d like to start by telling you what I remember. I got a call from a fellow who had just checked in. He was tired and frustrated. He told me that the screen door was stuck, and wouldn’t move. Considering the hour, I told him that I couldn’t get any one out there right now; but would look into it tomorrow. The previous guests had told me that the door was balky (NOT STUCK SHUT). I had called my handyman, Earl, to come and fix it. — but he wrote back that day that he was much too busy. I suggested to the guest that he take 2 kitchen knives and I could talk him through flipping the door off the track. Nope — not interested in doing anything like that. OK. How about looking under the bed to see if there is a spare door there. (I usually keep 1 or more on hand,,,,,,,,,,on more than two occasions, We’ll have a guest who’s enjoyed the cocktail hour so that they waltz right through the closed door. Nope. — not gonna happen. OK. What to do? I told him that I’d call around the next day & see who could help us. I did NOT say “well, what to you want me to do about it?” I would NEVER SAY THAT TO A GUEST.. nor to anyone, unless it was in jest.. So. — What to do? I’m going to offer to return the $500.00 rental fee. I have to hold onto the tax and cleaning $, as I owe it to others. I respectfully request that this false statement be taken down within 30 days. .If not, I will look into legal action for libel. The door was replaced day after that. These people will never darken my door again. Thank You. — John Clarke

The View is Great!

We had a great week in Wavecrest 303. The condo has all the amenities and is very clean and comfortable. The view from the lanai is spectacular, the sunrises are beautiful. There are a few, very minor, things that could be improved at very low cost (i.e., leaky faucets, dead batteries in the TV remote, etc.) But the Wavecrest pool is excellent - a daily swim is a must, and the grounds crew deserves a metal, the place always looks well groomed. Especially considering the bargain price, we highly recommend this condo to all.

Good location and comfortable condo

The condo was great with beautiful ocean views. It was very well equipped and comfortable, though the internet reception varied; that was more to do with the island than with the condo. The Wavecrest complex is generally quiet and beautifully landscaped and maintained. The location on the east end of the island was perfect. John is a very attentive and responsive host and he will make you feel at home.

The reason for a lower rating is that I stayed there for four days and unfortunately, construction work using power tools, was going on outside the bedroom for two of those days. John didn't know about this as the management did not notify the owners exactly where and when this project would start. If you are interested in this condo, know that the work has now been completed at John's end of the building and you won't be disturbed.

nice place - nice view - stayed at equal or nicer condos at Wavecrest for less - fairly clean except molded shower curtain stuck to tub - everything else was OK - comfortable bed - towels - kitchen well stocked - main complaint was no compromise from owner when we were forced to cut our trip short and return home due to a death - basically we were charged the full price for five nights and only stayed two - I understand the refund policy but I also understand the term "compromise" - death comes without warning - we can all share in the loss - I would have appreciated maybe a day off the bill - probably wouldn't rent this one again unless it was the only thing available - I have rented many different units at Wavecrest - they have all been as advertised - I highly recommend Wavecrest just not A303

This (Molokai'i) is Hawaii just the way your parents first met it. No stoplights, the top speed limit is 45 mph. & 28 houses of worship. Give it a few days for 'Polynesian Paralysis' to overcome you..................
