Established in 1830, the village of Wakefield is the economic and cultural centre of the region. The boardwalk along the river runs alongside an ideal village setting with cafes, bistros, delis, boutiques, a farmer's market and art galleries. The village is a true reflection of the values of its creative and independent merchants and was the first village in the province to be a designated FairTrade Village by Transfair Canada. The area is conveniently served by schools, supermarkets, a hospital, and a new scenic highway connecting the municipality to downtown Ottawa in just 25 minutes. Wakefield sur le Golf offers you an ideal lifestyle – an escape from the daily grind, with the great outdoors as your playground and easy access to the region’s major centres.
