Our family recently returned home from a wonderful week long stay at this cabin. Michael was so nice to work with, everything was as described, and we couldn't have been happier with our choice of rental or location. The cabin was clean and we felt right a home from the moment we entered the doors. The town of Grand Lake was charming and we loved the putt putt golf on the board walk. It was great to be centrally located for hikes into the Rocky Mountain National Park and the Arapaho National Forest. We set one day aside for shopping in Estes Park, and another day for boating and fishing on both Shadow Mountain Lake and Grand Lake. Of course no matter what we did each day, we would return home every evening and fish in the river as the sun set or maybe just watch the resident river otters at play. The roar of the river was so peaceful and the perfect way to relax at the end of each day. The weather was excellent and that combined with the perfect cabin, perfect host, and perfect location made it severly hard to want to come back to our home state of Texas.

Enjoyed our stay

  • 4 of 5

Cabin was well appointed with all required necessities. Spent time relaxing on the porch 20 feet from the Colorado river. Abundant wild live, bumped into a moose while walking our pet.

Lovely in every way

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful home, private setting right on the river. Spotless, with all the amenities one needs. Two bedrooms are on either end of the cabin offering both couples privacy. Convenient location. Comfortable beds. All around, absolutely lovely.

Great secluded, but accessible place

  • 5 of 5

It was a comfortable and yet not quite like home. It was exactly what we were looking for. The proximity to the river was amazing. I would strongly recommend it. A few touches like blinds repair would make it exceptional.

What a dream! Relaxing no matter the weather! Cozy up to the Colorado River friends!

This was such a great week for us. The week before Memorial Day is still iffy weather-wise, so we experienced it all...rain, clouds, full out snowfall, temperatures in the upper 20's, sunny days in the 60's and we didn't care because we had the rushing sound of the Colorado river right outside the double doors of the kitchen that we listened to and let all our stress just melt away.

This is the perfect place to totally decompress. Even if you got snowed in and couldn't explore anywhere else, you'd be fine. BUT, we were able to explore! Grand Lake was charming and fun - the town had some great eateries and cute shops. We were able to go partially through the Rocky Mountain National Park by driving as far as we could on either side until we hit the road blocks due to the snow still too thick to pass. That was okay. The mountains we did see were breath-taking and boy, did we see moose! The day before we left, we saw 8 of them and as a parting gift, a younger one, right on the property peeked out at us from about 100 feet or so. We also became acquainted with a new favorite animal, the yellow bellied marmots who sunned themselves on the rocks just outside the main drag of Grand Lake. We also saw a gray fox, some osprey, we know a bear got in the trash several times down the road, antelope, elk to name a few creatures of the wild.

The cabin was generously stocked with cooking and kitchen items. Linens, towels, toiletries, cleaning supplies all available. We brought our own groceries and there were plenty of basic spices and oil to work with to cook breakfast and dinner and the appliances worked fine.

The fire pit was AMAZING. We got a great fire going and it was grand being under the stars with blankets around us and hearing the roar of the river. Just unbelievable. The cabin is unique and you won't be sorry no matter what time of year you go and Michael is great to talk to and very helpful should you need anything! Thanks for the great time and we're already thinking about returning in September. We've already told someone about your place but don't want to publicize it too much or the price will go up! Thanks again for your hospitality, just can't say enough....

Amazing 2 night stay

This cabin is awesome, only down side WiFi is slim shady. But that's expected being in the mountains. We didn't mind, wasn't in Grand lake to sit around on computers
