(We purchased the condo for our family in summer 2017, and just started renting it in fall 2017. We’ve stayed in many condos ourselves over the years. It is really important to us that our guests are happy, and that they find the condo comfortable and cozy.)
Here are some details:
Our cozy condo is on the ground floor and super easy to access with skis. It is set in a wooded setting but is still only a few minutes walk from the town of Winter Park, which to us was essential. The condo is within walking distance of hiking trails, a 2 minute walk to the ski shuttle, a short 5 minute drive to the Winter Park/Mary Jane ski area, and a 15 minute drive to the beautiful Devil's Thumb cross country ski area.
There are two bedrooms; two baths; and a recently purchased sleeper sofa. The furniture includes lodgepole pine and aspen. There is complimentary WiFi.
The unit was remodeled in 2014 with slab granite countertops, alder cabinets, new appliances and slate floors. We’ve also made a number of improvements in the past few months, including upgrading much of the kitchenware and the second bedroom.
The unit works well for two couples and also for large families. This condo can sleep up to 9 people if needed (including the sleeper sofa). The master bedroom has a queen bed with a lodgepole head board and a recently purchased Serta Perfect sleeper mattress. The second bedroom has a full-over-full bunk bed with a twin trundle underneath and hence could sleep up to five. The bunk is solid wood and was purchased in December 2017. All mattresses in the second bedroom are Tuft and Needle (bought in December 2017) and they are very comfortable.
The living room includes a wood-burning fireplace and pine/aspen furniture. We have stocked the wooden chest with games, toys and kids books. There is a “take one/leave one” library above the fireplace. There is Yamaha entertainment center with Dolby surround sound and six speakers, including a sub-woofer (we mostly play games, but sometimes a movie is in order!). The Clubhouse has oodles of DVD’s to rent.
The condo is backed by a peaceful and private wooded view of aspen and pine trees. The back porch/deck area has a Weber gas grill and chairs. The windows were recent upgraded to highly-insulated double-pane. There is a storm door which adds to both the warmth of the unit and also allows extra natural light into the unit.
The Beaver Village clubhouse is about 100 yards away and includes an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, three hot-tubs, locker rooms with towels, pool toys, and laundry facilities. Kids love it!
The staff at Beaver Village are great and are available as needed during your stay. And of course, you can contact us by phone with any questions.
