Our home is a newly renovated, eclectic old home with a modern addition. It is located in an up-and-coming neighborhood in the West Hancock Corridor adjacent to the Historic Cobbham neighborhood. Our location is considered in-town, city living that it is centrally located and in walking distance to Milledge Avenue, Normal Town, and Prince Avenue. Our favorite local restaurants include The Grit, HiLo Bar and Lounge, and Normal Bar- all of which are in walking distance. Our home is only a 1.1 mile walk to downtown Athens. Cozy and spacious, our house is ideal for friends or families gathering to enjoy Athens. It has all the amenities you would prefer when away from home, but is special in it's attempt to blend the old with the new in a funky and diverse neighborhood. There is a wonderful screened-in back porch as well as small front yard.

Our stay at the Purple House was absolutely perfect.....We took a "guys" weekend to Athens for a football game and the house could not have been better. From the soccer goals in the front yard to plenty of sleeping space...it was perfect. Stacee really pays attention to detail....including "emergency wine" just in case you run out. The home was very close to the campus and downtown activities but far enough away to be in a nice quiet neighborhood. Great property, great location, great vacation.
Awee... Thanks James! It feels good to know our efforts are appreciated. We hope you will join us again in Athens! You guys were exceptional quests!
Cool house, tastefully renovated, great hospitality!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Purple House for the Drive By Truckers homecoming shows! The hosts did a great job with the house and went the extra mile to point us in fun and tasty directions in Athens. The house is in a quiet neighborhood convenient to downtown (<$5 Uber) and to neighborhood spots. The recent renovation preserves the character of the house very nicely while adding all the key 21st century amenities such as Roku, beverage fridge, modern shower w/rain head, WiFi, etc.. The porches in front and back (screened) are great places to hang out. This is a fun and clean place to stay, and to appreciate Athens in a more indigenous way. Highly recommended!
