Our stay was wonderful at George’s cottage. Very clean and accommodating. We enjoyed the patio and proximity to the beach very much. Beds were extremely comfortable for a good night sleep. Hope to stay here again soon!
Our family of 5 loved the house! George was wonderful to work with. We would definitely go back
Lovely Cottage by the Sea
What a lovely stay at George’s cottage! This 3 bedroom was very comfortable for 5 of us, had plenty of privacy with the beautiful vegetation in the yard, and of course the quaint environment of Maushop Village. The property was towards the back of the community, with few cars passing by. If you have not stayed in this area before, there are so many wonderful things to do including the beach, Popponesset Marketplace, and our favorite... renting bikes in Falmouth and riding the Shining Sea Trail to Woods Hole for a treat at Pie in the Sky! Note, the cell service is quite patchy in the area, and navigation systems don’t always take you where you intend to go, so pack printed directions to get to and around Maushop Village. We would certainly stay here again!
Lovely cottage. Clean and comfortable. Steps from beach
Had a great time.
We are very glad that you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again😊
Enjoyed our time!
We drove into the village and were greeted at the gate. We were a bit early so we went to the marketplace while the cleaners finished. The area was quaint and nice, in a short walk, you had everything avail you would want, ice cream, coffee, pizza shop, candy store, mini golf ++ and live music in the evenings. Lots of families with young children for which I feel this area is perfect for! We have a 14 yr old and twins age 8 and there weren’t a lot of kids their age but that was okay as this was a family vacation...but I can see how fun it would be to go with a group of friends or family. I’m not sure how many were renters vs owners but most people kept to themselves with the odd hello or a wave. The evenings would be quiet until the families would walk back from the marketplace after it shut down...maybe 10ish? Since there was no A/C our windows were open so we could hear everything. Sleeping was no problem as it was quiet after 10pm. It got very hot at night but all the fans were a much appreciated breeze.
The unit itself has everything you’d need. The kitchen even has a lobster pot! We found the space fine for 2 adults and 3 kids. We didn’t spend a lot of time inside except for evenings.
In terms of other supplies, we had to purchase toilet paper as we were given I think 2 rolls for the week for 5 ppl. 4 of us are girls! :) We also grabbed more laundry soap. Dish soap needed refilling. Easily done.
Cleanliness was excellent. The only thing I would say is the patio area could use a spruce up or in the very least, a good sweep and spray down with the hose. The roof appears as though its made of pine needles so on a windy day, they’re constantly blowing off onto the patio or into your drink or food. The outdoor shower was great and we used it quite a bit!
I would recommend water shoes as the beach is rocky in that area. The water was lovely and warm. Lots of beach equipment and wagon which we really appreciated on beach days.
Overall we had an excellent stay and enjoyed the area very much! Thanks so much!
Enjoy privacy on your patio or the Maushop Village private beach is just seconds away. Take a short walk to the Marketplace for shopping, a quick snack, mini golf, bike rentals, or entertainment. Walk, bike or jog on one of the many New Seabury trails past the ocean, ponds, or just the tree-lined paths. A short drive leads to one of the many nearby restaurants, the Mashpee Common with 90+ shops, a movie theater, three supermarkets, or a day trip to the islands. In short, do as much or as little as you wish.
