Overview

About the property

Charming vintage airstream, beautifully renovated with salvaged materials from around the city. Sits peacefully amongst a grove of banana trees under a 100 yr old sycamore.

The space has a plush queen size bed nook, claw foot tub, outdoor shower and a fully equipped kitchen making for a luxurious airstream experience right in the heart of downtown. Guests are welcome to lounge on the deck under the shade of our beautiful old tree. The air-conditioning/heating unit is brand new and keeps the airstream nice and cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

We're a short walk to amazing restaurants, bars, coffee shops, thrift stores, art galleries. Crescent park is a lovely new space along the Mississippi river only blocks away for jogs and afternoon strolls. Frenchman St is about seven blocks away and the French Quarter is ten. Renting bikes is a great option for seeing the city (we can recommend a good rental place if this is of interest) or if you prefer to rent a car there is always available parking right out front. Please know that our spot is near Press street, the border between the Bywater and Marigny, which is an industrial strip with an active, sporadic rail. This means that we are ideally situated in both neighborhoods and also that we hear our lovely train at odd hours. It's charming, but at times loud. The Bywater really is a magical place from which to explore the rest of the city. Feel free to send word if you have questions. We'd love to have you!

Charming getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I so enjoyed our stay in the airstream! It's surprisingly roomy inside and the porch out front was lovely for an early evening drink while watching the sun set. We walked to both the French Quarter and Frenchman St within 10-15 minutes and loved the Marigny neighborhood. Much quieter than the Quarter and lots of funky charm. Whenever we get to N.O. again we'll definite stay here. Thanks Erin and Travis!

Amazing Place

The air streamer was such an amazing place to stay. We really enjoyed the simplicity of it and the owners were very kind. If we go back to New Orleans we will definitely be staying here.

Charming, very accessible to place to stay

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I picked the weekend after Mardi Gras to explore New Orleans and we couldn’t have been more pleased with this cute little airstream experience. Erin went above and beyond in making our trip memorable from providing great coffee and a couple local cold beers in the fridge. The airstream was well decorated and welcoming with rustic meets retro decor. A surprising amount of space for those who worry about an airstream feeling claustrophobic. She even allowed us to rearrange our reservation last minute in the midst of unforeseen circumstances. Definitely plan on easy walks and/or bike rides into the city and unique local hangout spots in the neighborhood as well. All in all, an awesome experience and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting New Orleans.

This place was perfect for two people. It’s about a 10 minute Uber drive to the French quarter and about a 15 minutes drive to everything else. The owners are so sweet and caring; Erin even met up with us a couple of times to make sure everything was great. They created a small binder of entertainment and food options in New Orleans that was extremely helpful, especially for someone who has never been there before. My friend and I stayed here for four nights and had no trouble. Erin would check on us every now and then, and even helped us out when we got stuck without an Uber and when we needed a place to put our things before our flight leaves. She also allowed us to check in early on our first day. There is plenty of privacy in the backyard; the way the airstream was set up provided enough privacy for the outside shower. The only problem we encountered was the train tracks next to the house, which was more of a location problem instead of an owner issue. The train does occasionally pass the house more than once a night which can be a problem if you’re a light sleeper, but my friend and I can sleep through anything so we were fine. She does have animals which was not a problem for us because we love cats and dogs (one of the cats was especially sweet and curious!). Oh, and one more thing, the bed was extremely comfortable! Overall, I highly recommend this place for future trips. It was a great experience and will definitely use her in the future! Thank you for being so wonderful to us! We appreciate y’all so much!
