About Sherman Pierce
I was born in Winston-Salem, a tried and true hometown boy. I went to high school about a mile from here at Reynolds High School. The first time I saw the beautiful homes in the Buena Vista neighborhood, I knew that Buena Vista is where I wanted to live and raise a family. I worked hard in my early years to establish myself. I traveled a lot early on due to my job but was able to become fully self-employed about 15 years ago. I think it made me appreciate this home even more.
Sherman Pierce purchased this Apartment in 1993
Why Sherman Pierce chose Winston-Salem
Over the years, I have added many features to the house on the inside and outside. I have added a concrete driveway and gate to the back entrance as well as a small fish pool with several goldfish that are entertaining to observe. I converted part of the lower floor to an apartment and rented it for many years but stopped due to the birth of my youngest son. He is older now and I have decided to offer it again. I have really enjoyed selecting pieces for this apartment and upgrading its amenities. I have the same granite kitchen counter top in the main kitchen. There is a large picture of James Dean when you open the door and a new furniture in the bedroom.
What makes this Apartment unique
A beautiful home on a quiet, dead end street off a main artery into downtown if you go left and and Wake Forest University if you go right. It is a little over one mile to the Five Points intersection at Stratford Rd., which is near the Interstate 40 ramp (business). For location, it is simply the best.

Truly a home away from home...such a beautiful and comfortable space!
You couldn't find more welcoming and caring hosts! Very available if we needed anything... So many details to make us feel comfortable and welcomed: a bowl of candies, water in the refrigerator, extra blankets, towels, full stocked utensils in the kitchen, chess board and I can go on. Plenty of closet and drawer space to feel unpacked and at home. Also a very secure property with gate and a lovely neighborhood! Close to many restaurants... Very good restaurants...probably the best BBQ I ever tasted! Overall a wonderful stay and amazing hosts! We are leaving feeling very relaxed and pampered! We will definitely stay here again!!!
Outstanding Accommodations in a Great Location
This is a very well maintained basement apartment, with a private entrance and private off-street parking spot. Includes all new furniture and wood floors, with a separate bedroom and a very comfortable queen-size bed. The kitchen provides a great opportunity to not have to eat out every night. Very convenient to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Brenner Children's Hospital, Wake Forest University, historic downtown Winston-Salem, and much more. I very highly recommend this property!
There are many places to go and see, some as close as a couple of minutes away and some about 45 minutes, as Pilot Mountain is only a short drive north on US 52. If you are a history buff, Old Salem, Historic Bethabara Park, SECCA (Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art), Kaleidium (for children), and the Reynolda House Museum to name a few. Most of these are five to 10 minutes from my house. Nearby restaurants run the gambit from somewhat more elegant Ryan's Steaks, Chops & Seafood, Paul's Italian Dining, Fratelli's, to local favorites Grecian Corner, Bib's Downtown BBQ, Sweet Potatoes, and Village Tavern. My personal favorites are Five Points, Grecian Corner, The Sherwood, and The Porch Kitchen and Cantina. The first Friday of every month the Downtown Arts District comes alive with the First Friday Gallery Hop. The art galleries have evening hours and you can walk around downtown and wander from place to place absorbing the local culture. Local theater is vibrant as we have the Triad Stage at HanesBrand Theater, The Little Theater of Winston-Salem, and the Theater Alliance. Winston-Salem is home to many institutions of higher education. We are lucky to be very close to Wake Forest University, Salem College, Winston-Salem State University, NC School of the Arts, and Forsyth Technical Community College.
