We had a great time, the property and lodge exceeded our expectations!
Very impressed with the lodge and amenities
The Lodge at Fox Hallow
The Lodge at Fox Hallow was a wonderful choice for our family! The home is spacious, immaculately clean and modern with country flavor. The chef’s kitchen was a playground for our adventurous cooks. We had s’mores out on the deck, one of three, over looking acres of woods. We did day trips to Bennington and William’s Town. Alan was an attentive host. Any questions were quickly addressed. We loved our stay!
A pleasurable return
Our second visit to Fox Hollow was as joyful as the first. It is not easy to adequately describe the delights of this house. Off its spacious living room, itself containing three separately defined areas, there are a wonderfully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms, and three bathrooms. The living room walls are mostly composed of large picture windows, blending the surrounding forest with the inner spaces. Through the windows one can also see the two well-furnished deck areas and the lawns, as well as birds, deer, and other forest animals.
All the spaces described above are defined by the owners’ collection of art works, furniture, and old toys, filling the rooms with beauty and humor.
We really like this place.
Gail and Charles are a bright, articulate and interesting couple and they are always respectful of the Lodge.
Their very kind review is greatly appreciated.
We are always happy to see them and hope they stay at the Lodge again soon.
Great place to stay! Very cozy and plenty of room!
We stayed here in July as two couples. We loved the place!! Plenty of space in this very clean house. Large and fully equipped kitchen was more than we needed. Very comfortable and cozy with large living area, dining area and two bedrooms. Outdoor space on the deck off the living area and also a screened in area outside was great if you wanted to be in the open or in the shade. Very comfortable seating in each area. WiFi throughout the house was very helpful when cellular signal was lacking. The owners are great and accommodating. The house is close to Massachutes and Vermont for a short 20 minute drive. We are looking forward to a return trip in the future! We would definitely stay here again! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a place to stay in the area.
Jim, his brother and their wives were great! Really nice, friendly and quiet people.
The Lodge was so clean after they checked out that it looked like no one had been there. We thank them for that!
Don't think twice about having them as guests. We are certainly looking forward to hosting them again.....any time!
A special beauty
We greatly enjoyed our stay at this marvelous house. Spacious, comfortable, filled with quirky and beautiful objects of all sorts chosen by our charming and helpful hosts, it retains much of its aura as an historic performance space that hosted such notables as Pete Seeger and Arlo Guthrie. Even its array of lighting fixtures conforms with this feel of the theatrical.
At the same time it is thoroughly modern and functional, with excellent WIFI, extremely comfortable beds and furniture, plenty of closets and drawers, ceiling fans and air conditioning (the latter of which we didn’t need to use), and well-designed, stylish bathrooms. The kitchen is superbly equipped and is a pleasure to use.
The house is surrounded by greenery—trees, flowers, plants—and has several enjoyable outdoor spaces: two decks and a screened porch. The many very large picture windows created a delightful blend of being inside and outside at the same time.
The one negative we would cite is that the traffic noise from Route 2 can at times be heard. We were never disturbed by this at night, but it was audible during the day. However, this issue would never prevent us from returning; our experience here was much too joyful.
Gail and Charles were wonderful guests.
They are a smart, articulate and interesting couple who took advantage of some of the cultural offerings nearby.
They treated the Lodge with respect and left it clean and in order.
We would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone else as guests and hope to see them again here.
In response to their concern about Rt 2 traffic:
Rt 2 is a mostly local road that is practically empty between 8pm and 8am. Unlike a city, where all the noises, near and far, blend together, the country is a different story. Because of the large, open surrounding lands and mountains, sounds from as far away as 2-3 miles can be heard.
If we could do anything to lessen the noise, which isn't substantial, we certainly would.
Aside from this, we're very glad that Gail and Charles enjoyed the Lodge, it's comfort, decor, awesome kitchen, etc........all the things we tried extra hard to make it an enticing place to stay.
They're welcome back any time.
