Wouldn't Rent Here Again!

  • 2 of 5

I wouldn't rent from this owner again....I have to agree with much of what the first review said, we had the same experience. No hand soap, we had to go and buy some, and I only saw one roll of toilet paper, thankfully we were not there long and it lasted. There was also a cockroach one morning in the bathroom. We were not told that because this was a private unit there were several services we wouldn't be allowed to use. Such as luggage storage, beach towels, etc. It also took us about two days before we found a bath mat in the closet. We ended up just taking white bath towels to the beach because there were no other options. We were also not informed that there wouldn't be wifi in the room and we could only get it in the lobby. That would have been nice to know prior to booking.

The owner is not very clear about communicating on how things work. I had to email her to ask how to get the key, how check out works, etc. Our flight on our last day was not leaving until around 9 o'clock at night so I had asked if there was anywhere to leave luggage and she had told me that no one was staying in the room that day, so it was fine if we left our luggage in there. Naturally, I believed her. Then, when we were packing up our things, around 3 o'clock we got a knock on the door first, from a maid and I told her we were not leaving until about six, so she left. Then a few minutes later the owner knocked on the door saying checkout was at 11. I was so frazzled by the whole thing I just ended up telling her we were near the end of packing everything and would be out in a few minutes. But I ended up having to call our shuttle service and ask to be picked up earlier, so we were at the airport way early -- before the ticket counters and such were even open.

I suppose it provided what we needed for a few days, and was quite inexpensive, but I was not impressed to say, the least. I would have rather paid a little bit more and gotten what I wanted. Next time, I'm going to stick with what I usually do and just rent a hotel room.

Owner's Response: I'm sorry that this guest feels this way. In regards to her concerns... Hand soap should have been provided (the maids should have left some). There were plenty of extra toilet paper in the closet on the upper left side of the shelf. All the issues she had could have been resolved with a simply email or phone call and we could have handle all of the issues. Our check out time is at 11am (which is stated in the rental agreement) and check in time is at 3:00pm. When I knocked on the door, I introduced myself and advised that the check out time was at 11am (it didn't look like they were any where close to being packed) at which point she said they were almost done and will be out of the room shortly. At no point during that contact did she mention that she needed a place to leave the luggage, as my assumption when she said they were almost ready to leave the room, that they had made other arrangements. My request was for the maid to start cleaning the room. We had someone else checking in later that day, so the maid needed to start cleaning the room. The luggage could have stayed in the room while the room was being cleaned. I'm sorry that there was lack of communication on both of our ends, but all of her concerns would have been addressed had we had the opportunity to address them during her stay. We appreciate her review and will ensure that the next guests will not experience the same issues. Mahalo...

Bad service, smelly and cockroach ridden!

  • 1 of 5

I was VERY disappointed with this condo. Whilst the location was great, the agent I was in contact with was highly unreliable and would take a long time to return emails and acknowledge payment. She kept me waiting for 45mins on my check in day after telling me to meet her...I ended up ringing her and she told me she had left the key for me at reception....NO communication whatsoever.

The condo was smelly, old, had cockroaches and there were droppings of some kind on the bathroom and kitchen benchtops. Some cosmetic touches had been done, but terrible old stained beds with the sheets to match. It really was grubby. No guest soaps and half a roll of toilet tissue....that was it. Lucky I was only staying for 3 nights. I will never stay in this condo again.

Owner's Response: This was quite some time ago when we had someone else taking care of the unit and prior to our renovations.

Good location

  • 4 of 5

We had three nights at this condo since we wanted to be in the mix of Waikiki w/o paying huge nightly hotel fees. The location worked out well for us as we caught the trolley to shop at Ala Moana. The condo was comfortable. The only downside was not being able to enjoy a view from the balcony as the next building is right there! Keep your curtains drawn an its no problem!
