Beautiful secluded 1450-square-foot mountain home, one of only a handful of private homes -- and the only vacation rental -- located within the Arapaho National Forest, adjacent to the Mount Evans Wilderness Area and close to Echo Lake and Mt. Evans. Hike, cross-country ski, sled, explore, or just relax and take in the million dollar views without leaving the property or getting into a car. Across the well-maintained access road -- Colorado Scenic Highway 103 -- are more Forest Service trails and roads for hiking, snow-shoeing, or cross-country skiing. These trails lead to Mount Evans and the Mount Evans Wilderness Area. The house is privately situated on 16 acres and you cannot see another house or the road from this house or its two decks. Chicago Creek runs through the property for half a mile, providing private views and fishing. Children will love to roam the woods and make forts in the summer or snowmen in the winter. We have a great sledding hill for youngsters, older kids practice snowboarding on the rails we put up in winter. If you do want to get away, it is only 12 minutes to brew pubs and restaurants in historic and charming Idaho Springs and I-70. From the house, it is 45 minutes to downtown Denver in one direction, or 45 minutes to the top of the Continental Divide in the other direction. Loveland Ski Resort is 40 minutes away. Other major ski resorts are just a little farther. Echo Mountain Ski and Snowboard Resort is 10 miles away.

Really nice getaway for our family
Enjoyed the views and the peace and quiet. Great location close to Mt. Evans and Idaho Springs. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Great mountain getaway!
This was our fourth visit. We love this spot because you can stay on property and hike for an hour or more exploring Chicago creek, you can zip up to summit lake and Mt Evans, or you can explore the towns and nearby mountain passes. And you can listen to the thrush call and the broadtail and Rufus hummingbirds will come right up to you! Awesome!
We had a blast!!
Loved It!! Beautiful views, tons of wooded acreage to explore & everything you need in the house.
Jen was amazing to work with and the extra touches throughout the house were wonderful. The house is off the road to where you feel like you are in the middle of the woods but easy to access. The big windows throughout are wonderful and we were visited many times by several blue jays. The cabin is close to echo lake that was beautiful when covered with ice and snow all around. We also went to Indian hot springs and soaked & played in the pool and did a mud bath, very relaxing and fun.
beautiful and peaceful
This sweet cabin exceeded our expectations. It felt so homey, everything was top quality which is so unusual in rentals. From the lovely bedding to the quality cookware, we were impressed. The views and solitude cant't be beat. Very appreciative.
Peaceful cabin in the woods!
We really enjoyed the cabin the woods! It was so peaceful and relaxing. The view was perfect to wake up to each morning and the property was great for exploring.
