About Marlene True
I came to NC to attend graduate school at East Carolina University. I graduated in 2008 with a Masters of Fine Art. My jewelry studio, Pocosin Arts, and the outdoors are where I like to spend my time. I fell in love with the town of Columbia and in particular, Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft where I am now the Executive Director.
Marlene True purchased this House in 2010
Why Marlene True chose Columbia
It is a 2-minute walk to Main Street in Columbia where Pocosin Arts School of Fine Crafts, restaurants and the Scuppernong River Boardwalk are located.

A lovely peaceful stay
We very much enjoyed our stay. It was quiet, clean, and peaceful. Will definitely be back!
I enjoyed my week at the cottage and will definitely stay again.
It was a pleasure to host Jan and her family in the cottage. They were excellent guests, and I would welcome them back anytime!
Great host with a super neat house!!!
My brother, nephew and I were going duck hunting in Hyde County, about 30 minutes from Columbia, NC. Hyde is a very remote part of North Carolina and the acomodations options are limited, to say the least. We wanted a house, vs. a motel and after some looking came across this house in Columbia, NC. Absolutely perfect for us. House had everything we needed or wanted, was super clean and the beds were very comfortable. It was great for us, but this is no hunting cabin, by anyone's definition, and would do great for a couple or small family there to take in Tyrell county, the Pamlico Sound and downtown Columbia.
Marlene was very communicative, responsive and a pleasure to deal with the whole way through (including refunding our security deposit immediately, without issue or prompting). We highly recommend and will be back!!!
Jay, your group was great and we welcome you back anytime!
