About Marlene True
I came to NC to attend graduate school at East Carolina University. I graduated in 2008 with a Masters of Fine Art. My jewelry studio, Pocosin Arts, and the outdoors are where I like to spend my time. I fell in love with the town of Columbia and in particular, Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft where I am now the Executive Director.
Marlene True purchased this House in 2010
Why Marlene True chose Columbia
It is a 2-minute walk to Main Street in Columbia where Pocosin Arts School of Fine Crafts, restaurants and the Scuppernong River Boardwalk are located.

Everything was awesome! Large, clean and all the necessary amenities! The town was quaint and the river was gorgeous! Highly recommend Marlene and her cute cottage!
Beautiful home, well decorated, quiet neighborhood. We loved it!
House better than advertised
House is very CLEAN and very comfortable, with interesting art pieces throughout.
The only thing that would have made it better (for us at least) would have been a washer and dryer. Other than that, we wanted for nothing in this beautiful house.
Comfy beds, plenty of soft fluffy towels, substantial dining room furniture, plenty of closet space and extra blankets, linens are NICE and of higher quality than you might expect in a rental, K-cup maker.
Neighborhood is either on the decline or experiencing an upswing - we couldn't tell. Was a mix of well kept properties such as this one, homes and yards that could use some attention, and commercial properties such as auto related, restaurants, art center and others. We did not try any, as we ended up taking day trips to other towns.
There is an AMAZING lengthy boardwalk along the river, a MUST-DO if you stay here.
The town...?? If you are looking for allot of activity and variety, you will end up driving to other places during the days as we did! But if you are looking for a place to enjoy the outdoors, and to put your feet up and relax in comfort and peace, a respite from stress and worry, then BOOK NOW!
Can't say anything negative - great time!
Hello Erika, I am happy you enjoyed the Cottage and I agree, the boardwalk is a real gem! Next time, check out Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft. Many of the pieces in the cottage come from the art school and they have a great little gallery filled with beautiful handmade work. Please stay with us again!
This cottage was indeed cozy and charming. I would highly recommend this home to my family & friends
My artist friend and I spend a lovely weekend in this cottage during an art workshop. We couldn’t have asked for better accommodations. Spacious and clean with a well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds and linens provided. Nice backyard patio and grill area too.
It was great having you with us Debbie and I am so glad that you enjoyed the cottage. Please come back anytime!
House done well and very comfortable
Love the area and the comfort of the air conditioning and the location
David's group was a pleasure to host, they left the cottage in great shape and I welcome them back anytime!
