Very clean, very roomy, all the comforts of home. Great communication with the owner. Couldn't be more pleased.
Thank you Pam! It was a such a pleasure having you. I do hope you can visit again!! We would love to have you...
Parking was a little inconvenient. No paved or gravel.
We do apologize for the soft ground parking. We just put in a new lawn in the summer. We have plans with the contractor to remedy this in the spring. We have parking on the right side of the garage that is well suited for parking.
Home away from home.
Very nice place to Stay in Fairbanks. The owners live above in this cozy 2 bed
apartment and were great hosts. They had everything needed in the VRBO unit to help make our stay there comfortable and even let us know of a good location to view the northern lights. It truly felt like our home away from home, making our vacation wonderful. We will stay there again if we get another opportunity to go to Fairbanks, AK. Jerry and Lois from Colbert, WA
Jerry, It was such a pleasure meeting you guys. You are so awesome. I am so happy you had a great trip and that the apartment was all you hoped for. We would love to have you stay again!!! Thanks so much!! Hugs
We got the best place ever!!
The property was described very accurately. The pictures were not photo shopped to enhance the images. Good location, safe neighborhood. We felt safe and secure every time we came and went.
Charleen was a very good hostess. There was the usual salt and pepper but the shelves held much more; such as snacks, some food mixes, coffee, sugar, and more. To top that off was a fresh loaf of bread from the bakery and butter in the fridge. This was really appreciated when we arrived hungry at at 3:00AM. The toast was the best.
There was an ice chest in the supplies for us to keep our sodas cold when we went sight seeing. And yes... we did see lots of critters and a moose crossing the highway.
Charleen went out of her way to help me find some local fishing info. She even offered to have her friend visit to give us face to face chatter.
There was a brochure/computer table with maps, info, and brochures. This was a nice touch. The wi-fi was easy and worked well. No problems staying in touch with our people by email.
To bad we can only give 5 stars.
Welcomed Like Family
Would you enjoy being greeted with a hug (a big hug!) by Charleen and then ushered into a warm, bright, clean, two-bedroom apartment? Charleen and Mark have truly thought through what visitors might need and then provided it. When we arrived, Charleen had a pot of coffee and a loaf of Great Harvest bread awaiting us. There was also butter for the bread and bottled water in the frig.
The one drawback is the lack of soundproofing between the downstairs and upstairs bedrooms. Otherwise, we found little to suggest that might improve upon our rental experience. (e.g. perhaps a mirror in each bedroom. There is, at present, one mirror in the bathroom.)
If you come during wintertime, there is a block heater plug-in for your vehicle. (Parking spot is to the left of the garage doors.) The driveway was well cleared as was the walkway to the front door.
When we return to Fairbanks, this is where we'll stay!
It was such a pleasure meeting you. Thank you for the wonderful review. We will work on getting mirrors!! We do hope that when you come again to Fairbanks that you have an opportunity to stay with us. You are certainly family!!
