This upstairs two bedroom two bath is located in the heart of the vibrant uptown neighborhood of Hillcrest. Completely remodeled in a hip Mid Century vibe with new bathrooms, original kitchen with period tile, glass knobs, vintage furniture and details. It is steps from an array of restaurants, bars. coffee houses, boutiques and unique shops. Literally walk to everything! Great restaurants, nightlife, Balboa Park, coffee shops, pubs and boutique shopping. This home is not suitable for young children due to the one of a kind vintage furniture, decorative glass and stairs. Street parking is available in front and on the surrounding residential streets. Uber is a fantastic way to get around the city.

Great area of San Diego
This property is very nice and well kept. I appreciated how clean it was and how well stocked it was. The retro furniture was nice. We did have some parking issues even during the day, but there was parking several blocks away.
I suggest in the future you read the description before booking so that you aren’t surprised by information that is readily available to you. It is stated in our listing description as well as our welcome email that parking can be a challenge at times and we suggest that our guest use Uber or Lyft. But, you did have a spotless, upscale wonderful place to stay.
The house was comfy and close to everything
Good location to get around city
It was nice to have an apartment in a community which allowed us to feel more like part of the community verses a large hotel where we are tourist. The owner, William, communicated with us prior to and during our stay to be sure things are ok with the stay. Parking can be a challenge on weekends and evenings but we did not have an issue. Being from Texas we use A/C during the summer. This unit does not have A/C but with the windows open we were just fine. Even cold at times. We would stay here again for user.
We loved this apartment. We came with our daughter who was celebrating her 24th. Having two bedrooms and two bathrooms was ideal. The location was wonderful. We walked everywhere.... Balboa Park, stores and restaurants. William and Kerry were great hosts and always there to help.
Cozy, warm, and fun!
This cozy, warm, fun apartment is a great gem in Hillcrest. The Mid-Century Modern / Googly decor is quirky and fun, but not off-putting. The apartment is well kept, and there were no amenities that we thought were lacking in any way. The amount of light that this apartment gets during the day and in the late evening is gorgeous! Opening the windows in the living room and kitchen and getting some cross breeze, and then just bathing in the light and warmth almost made us not make it to our dinner reservation; it was just too relaxing. :-) There are two bedrooms; we only used one, but I assume both beds to be as comfortable as the one we stayed in. The bathrooms are different for each bedroom; one has a small shower, and the other has a tub. The bathrooms themselves are a bit on the smallish size, but nothing that we found inconvenient. We stuck to the shower during our stay, but the bath looked fine too. Again, we found nothing in terms of amenities that we felt did not live up to expectations.
There are two things that anyone staying here should be aware of; as with nearly ANY location in Hillcrest / Northpark, parking can be problematic at certain times, most esp. in the evenings. Just be aware of it, and plan accordingly. Also, the stairs leading up to the apartment are of a type that might be daunting for some. This building is an older building, so the stairs are of the type that was much more common before current UBC codes, i.e. they are a bit narrower, and the rise is steeper than some may be used to in newer buildings. Certainly not a deal-breaker in most cases, but something to be aware of nonetheless when planning your trip. :-)
Proximity to a Trader Joes and a Ralphs is within easy walking distance. There are other nice shops close by on University Ave., so unless you plan on going to someplace specific away from the area you can quite easily find most anything you may want without having to move your car.
Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a nice, fun place to stay in Hillcrest!
