Property was double booked.
On the night we arrived , we found out the property was double booked. The owners explained that there was a glitch In the booking and they were not responsible for the mix up. So the property we paid in advance to stay at was occupied by another renter.
The owners of the property said this rental was a minimum 3 day, which it was not represented that way on the site.
The owners had accepted our rental and responded via e-mail twice. The emails we received were signed by an person named Mark, the owner we spoke to said his name was Monti not Mark, he didn’t know a Mark and he wife did the bookings, he then referred me to his wife.
I spoke with the wife and she seemed confused about everything, I explained to her we had two previous emails from them, one accepting our rental request in January where we prepaid our booking and another providing the rental property address. I told her some information about us then she admitted we did sound some what familiar, she apologized but said the booking mix up was not their responsibility but was VRBO’s error, We were forced to accept a much less desirable property they had available or look for other lodging late at night and contact VRBO about reimbursement for our rental fees. Never will I rent from a new owner or with a property with less than 5 bookings. Lesson learned.
Beautifully appointed one bedroom cottage in a nice quiet neighborhood. Conveniently located a few blocks from I-95. Owners are wonderful to work with. The overall experience exceeded my expectations.
