Nestled in Mountain Awe, is our rustic, 1900 historic cozy cabin in the middle of Pine Grove (population is like 150!). Four wheel drive not needed. We boast as much authentic character as we can. So much recreation: such as World Class mountain biking/fishing the Lake in Pine Valley Open Space or Gold Metal Platte River (both are less than five minutes away) or Buffalo Creek/Elk Creek-"tubing anyone?", hiking/biking, climbing, exploring, ice skating at the Pine Valley Open Space Park just two minutes away, or even taking a dip in the nearby amazing "natural mountain jacuzzi" (cold!). Checkout out the abandoned, historic railroad with a 1/2 to all day excursion. Go back in time passing numerous historic mountain cabins dating back to late 1800-early 1900's on the way to a real saloon about 1 mile up the road- the Buck Snort. There are three bedrooms all with Q beds, a very firm 1910 sofa and a single pillow top matress to pull out from under the front bedroom bed. It even has it's own private grove for pitching a tent for some outdoor camping ambience; however no campfires--we don't want to scare/upset any of my great neighbors with it. of-town visitor) just a 1 mile away trek as you take in the spectacular scenery. There is even a little known "cold tub jaquzzi" that a friend and I dipped into (see videos)--amazing! and nestled between boulders on all sides with a small waterfall. Enter at your own risk. Another nearby hidden gem is an abandoned, historical railroad bed and nearby waterfalls and hiking (directions will also be in the guest registry (please do not remove any directions for excursions from it). Enjoy the peace and quiet, fish the South Platte River Gold Metal waters or Elk/Buffalo Creeks. Throw the frisbee or lawn sport on our adjacent parcel on the open flat area across the road. Check out the historic cemetery or the famous Zokas restaurant in town. Go to concerts at RedRocks Amphitheatre (a geological phenomenon – the only naturally-occurring, acoustically perfect amphitheatre in the world!), Races at Bandimere Speedway or World Class Motocross racing at ThunderValley which is about a 30 minutes drive. Pass thru Woodland Park near Pikes Peak on the way to Colorado Springs which is about an hours drive. Day hikes are possible right from the cabin to nearby copper mines. Guanella Pass where big horn sheep are often viewed is just 30 minutes away.
Winter time is fun in the Colorado mountains with Ziplining year round among other numerous winter sports. Take in the scenic beauty all year round-Christmas/Thanksgiving in the Rocky Mountains! Winter is an excellent time to hike and not all mountains are covered with snow; not all roads are snow bound! Pine Grove is located in a very sunny area of Colorado.
Staunton Park is near Pine: Hiking, Mountain Biking, Horseback Riding, Rock Climbing, Fishing, Snowshoeing--includes dramatic rock outcroppings, several streams and a waterfall.
Meyer Ranch Park is near Conifer/Aspen Park: Hiking, Mountain Biking, Sledding, Snowshoeing.
Pine Valley Ranch Park is a favorite of many and just 4-5 minutes from Pine Grove: Hiking, Mountain Biking, Fishing, Ice Skating in Winter.
Red Rocks Amphitheatre is about 40 minutes/29 miles away
For you antique enthusiasts, there is the Pine Emporium (check on the hours but typically open Fri-Sun) boasting about 3000' of old stuff--be taken back in time
