about 1150', gorgeous mountain scenery, world class fishing-awesome outdoor rec.
Nestled in Mountain Awe, is our rustic, 1900 historic cozy cabin in the middle of Pine Grove (population is like 150!). We boast as much authentic character as we can. So much recreation: such as World Class mountain biking/fishing the Lake in Pine Valley Open Space or Gold Metal Platte River (both are less than five minutes away) or Buffalo Creek/Elk Creek-"tubing anyone?", hiking/biking, climbing, exploring, ice skating at the Pine Valley Open Space Park just two minutes away, or even taking a dip in the nearby amazing "natural mountain jacuzzi" (cold!). Checkout out the abandoned, historic railroad with a 1/2 to all day excursion. Go back in time passing numerous historic mountain cabins dating back to late 1800-early 1900's on the way to a real saloon about 1 mile up the road- the Buck Snort. DOGS ALLOWED at my place at and additional 15% for one pooch and 20% of tab total for two pooches-see rules
There are three bedrooms all with Q beds, a very firm 1910 sofa and a single pillow top matress to pull out from under the front bedroom bed. It even has it's own private grove for pitching a tent for some outdoor camping ambience; however no campfires--we don't want to scare/upset any of my great neighbors with it. of-town visitor) just a 1 mile away trek as you take in the spectacular scenery. There is even a little known "cold tub jaquzzi" that a friend and I dipped into (see videos)--amazing! and nestled between boulders on all sides with a small waterfall. Enter at your own risk. Directions to this amazing water hole will soon be in the front of my guest registry.
Another nearby hidden gem is an abandoned, historical railroad bed and nearby waterfalls and hiking (directions will also be in the guest registry (please do not remove any directions for excursions from it). Enjoy the peace and quiet, fish the South Platte River Gold Metal waters or Elk/Buffalo Creeks. Throw the frisbee or lawn sport on our adjacent parcel on the open flat area across the road. Check out the historic cemetery or the famous Zokas restaurant in town. Go to concerts at RedRocks Amphitheatre (a geological phenomenon – the only naturally-occurring, acoustically perfect amphitheatre in the world!), Races at Bandimere Speedway or World Class Motocross racing at ThunderValley which is about a 30 minutes drive. Pass thru Woodland Park near Pikes Peak on the way to Colorado Springs which is about an hours drive. Day hikes are possible right from the cabin to nearby copper mines. Guanella Pass where big horn sheep are often viewed is just 30 minutes away.
Winter time is fun in the Colorado mountains with Ziplining year round among other numerous winter sports. Take in the scenic beauty all year round-Christmas/Thanksgiving in the Rocky Mountains! Winter is an excellent time to hike and not all mountains are covered with snow; not all roads are snow bound! Pine Grove is located in a very sunny area of Colorado.
Staunton Park is near Pine: Hiking, Mountain Biking, Horseback Riding, Rock Climbing, Fishing, Snowshoeing--includes dramatic rock outcroppings, several streams and a waterfall.
Meyer Ranch Park is near Conifer/Aspen Park: Hiking, Mountain Biking, Sledding, Snowshoeing.
Pine Valley Ranch Park is a favorite of many and just 4-5 minutes from Pine Grove: Hiking, Mountain Biking, Fishing, Ice Skating in Winter.
Red Rocks Amphitheatre is about 40 minutes/29 miles away
For you antique enthusiasts, there is the Pine Emporium (check on the hours but typically open Fri-Sun) boasting about 3000' of old stuff--be taken back in time

About Karla Harris
A am a total nature nut! I am retiring from flipping and this property was my final flip and I fell in love with it, so am keeping it. I hope all of you enjoy its charming uniqueness as much as myself! My family was poor farmers in IA; growing up and getting teased and not fitting in well during my school years, I said I will not be poor in my adulthood-took til age 50, but I am doing okay; Married 30 years with no children I think helps with that-no funding for colleges! I graduated from Hampton Community High School. I absolutely love all animals! I put up "self built" numerous bird houses and owl nests in my small grove of maybe 10 trees (3 young ones added). I hope my guests enjoy my place as much as I do!
Karla Harris purchased this House in 2016
Why Karla Harris chose Pine
I spent alot of time furnishing it with items of the era from the early 1900's since it is built in 1900 (added onto twice I believe since then) to include a player piano for you to enjoy I really have not seen any other rentals furnished like mine. The historic outhouse is still on site! The ambience of Pine Grove is very unique and very charming. People are friendly and it boasts tranquility and no light pollution to enjoy tons of stars and the milkyway. Lots of wildlife. Some have seen black foxes! Imagine snuggling with a book and the electric fireplace as you watch the snow fall with such beauty all around; better yet, host Christmas or Thanksgiving here!
What makes this House unique
The tree bench swing was there and I remember sitting on it before I put my offer in on the property. Absolutely loved the "swing therapy". Then I decided to hang a hammock; I love the one at my primary residence. The views all around you are absolutely amazing especially if you walk up the road for maybe even just a half mile to feel the area-you won't be able to stop or turn around!

ATM and groceries can be had in Pine Junction (at the stoplight junction at Hwy 285) about 6 miles up the road. Also a restaurant/pizza is located there and a hardware store. Laundry can be accomplished in my home. If you fly in from CO Springs, it is 71 miles away.
