Enjoy magnificent views from on top of the world in this unique and delightful round house located atop Hanging Rock Mountain. Watch the sun rise OVER the clouds below you as you relax in the hot tub, enjoy a cup of coffee from the deck, or from the comfort of the living room in this eclectic Seven Devils rental. Fire up the wood-burning stove for those cool nights or open the windows to enjoy a cool mountain breeze on summer evenings – no matter the season, Honey Bear House is a cozy, affordable retreat.
Before you even arrive at Honey Bear House, you know you are in the mountains as you follow the paved road that curves up the mountain. You will be amazed by the rhododendron blooms, boulders and creeks so well-tended by the town, and may even pause to watch passing deer or wild turkeys.
Once you arrive, as you enter the home you are immediately greeted with the exceptional long-range view out the large windows. The cheery colors welcome you, as do the comfortable furnishings and easy floor plan. There is no spot in this area that you will miss the view, even from the modern kitchen. Imagine enjoying your morning coffee or evening cocktail as you soak it all in.
Both bedrooms are also located on this level, each with a queen bed. The master has its own private bath with shower-tub combo, and the second bedroom is located just across from the other bedroom. This second bath has a walk-in shower, and both bathrooms were recently completely renovated. The second bedroom also features a queen bed.
Head downstairs when you are ready for fun! The family room features a foosball table and tv or step out onto the lower deck for a soak in the hot tub. As with the upper deck, the view seems forever.
Honey Bear House is literally walking distance from Hawksnest Zipline and Snow Tubing (though a bit steep), just a couple of miles from the popular Otter Falls, and an easy drive into Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk and Valle Crucis as well as the Blue Ridge Parkway and Grandfather Mountain. But you don't even have to leave; Honey Bear House is equipped with cable TVs, wi-fi, a DVD player and foosball table.
Honey Bear House comfortably sleeps up to six.
Master with queen bed and full bath with shower/tub combo.
Second bedroom with queen bed.
Second full bath with walk-in shower.

This home has paved access all the way to the driveway, but does require 4wd/chains during winter conditions due to steepness.
** 4WD or chains are always recommended when visiting the mountains in winter.

Incredible Views and Very Nice Home
We very much enjoyed our stay in this home. It was very clean, had everything we needed, and the views were to die for. Very close to Otter Falls for those who enjoy hiking, or if you're just trying to relax, the hot tub overlooking the mountains is hard to beat. The property owner was very kind and helpful. I would absolutely love to stay again in the future.
Top of the world!
We had a wonderful time! The space was very well laid out. The trip up was a little scary with the fog that rolled in enroute but we made it. Once the fog lifted on day 2, the view was absolutely amazing! We caught a sunrise one morning and it was majestic!
The space was very roomy. The two bedrooms were basic but met our needs completely. The beds were firm and comfortable. Linens were clean and soft. They had just completed a bathroom remodel and they were gorgeous. The kitchen had almost everything we needed (no pizza cutter, ha ha) and was very well put together. The hot tub was impeccably clean and offered enough privacy that you could relax and enjoy the view.
The location was perfect for exploring all the high country has to offer. We were no more than 30 minutes to anywhere we wanted to go.
We have already talked about another trip to the area and how we would love to stay here again!
Caryn, thank you for the kind words! And for the patience as we worked out some "kinks" with the (VERY)new bathrooms! We look forward to you staying again!- Matt
Very peaceful and a beautiful view.
Thank you, Kris! We appreciate you staying! Have a great Fall! - Matt

No complaints would stay again
Great place would just say get the heater in the basement and hot tub going as soon as you get there if it's gonna be cool.
Karl, thanks for the feedback. We appreciate the insights -- it's the only way we get better! My apologies that it took too long to heat up!
Thanks again for your stay -- have a great winter!
Beautiful view and convenient location!
Very nice and clean! We enjoyed the hot tub and remodeled kitchen. Thanks!
