Overview

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 6 in beds, 2 on couches

Nestled in a quiet forest of piñon and cedar, this three bedroom, two bathroom home offers the privacy of a rural feel within fifteen minutes of Santa Fe’s historic Plaza. The entrance of the residence greets you with a splash of classic Southwestern color and the hand carved, Spanish style front door can’t help but to invite you to stay. Once inside, you will be delighted with the many stylistic nods to New Mexico’s rich cultural influences.

This home has been recently updated with elegant, Venetian plaster walls, exposed wooden beams and stainless steel appliances. The kitchen is bright with large windows and excellent natural light; ready for entertaining! Fully stocked for all of your cooking needs, the counter bar seats six and the large dining table accommodates eight with ease. The spacious style of the kitchen, front room and living area offers the opportunity to enjoy time together as a group, or for folks to split off for a game of cards or some solo time with a good book. The living room is ready for the rare rainy day with a large flat screen TV and the oversized, double doors open up to the outside in anticipation of the 300+ sunny days enjoyed by Santa Fe. The outdoor seating areas are as accommodating as the ones inside; cocktails on the front porch are as easy as d’oeuvres on the side patio. Inside, painted brick floors paired with Southwestern and Indigenous inspired area rugs continue to remind you of the graceful uniqueness of Northern New Mexico’s many faces.

The master bedroom has a queen sized bed, it’s own wood burning stove, a 3/4 bathroom with his & her sinks, and an over sized closet, (large enough for even the most indulgent of packers)! The ceiling vigas are quintessentially Santa Fe. Attached to the master suite is a solarium that serves as a second bedroom. With a king sized bed and wood stove, it is a large and luminous room, perfect for those who like to watch the early morning light transition into day. **In the winter months, there is a space heater provided, otherwise the wood stove is the primary source of night time heat for this room. A door separates these two bedrooms, however in order to enter the second bedroom room one must go through the master. The third bedroom also boasts a king sized bed with a closet and an armoire for your things. The washroom across the way is a full bathroom, also with his and her sinks as well as exquisite, classically Santa Fean, galvanized tin and tile mirrors. The office down the hall is the perfect little hideaway for either privacy or productivity and has a futon bed for extra sleeping space. The washer/dryer is centrally located as to accommodate any laundry needs your group might have.

About Property Manager/Owner

Love entertaining, the smell of the pinions each day, pine nuts raining from the trees in fall, watching the rabbits, laughing at the antics of the crows, the crackle of a fire, snuggling on the couch with Cameron, seeing my children anytime, spending time with family, swimming, cooking, sewing, studying the endless beautiful sunsets, people-watching on the Plaza.........

Property Manager/Owner purchased this house in 2014

Why Property Manager/Owner chose Santa Fe

Quiet seclusion and privacy close in to the activities at the Railyard, Plaza and Museums.

What makes this house unique

We completely remodeled this Pueblo-style home in 2014-2015. It is close in on 3 very secluded, private, fenced acres. It is convenient to everything fun about Santa Fe, but lets you live in the beautiful pinion forest with pure privacy.

Good stay with some quirks

  • 3 of 5

My husband, five month old, and in-laws stayed here for about a week. Overall it was good—beds were good (and various), location is great—you have the feeling of being remote but still a short drive into town (I saw a mother and her fawn in the driveway one morning!)—showers were good and the house itself is beautiful. There was an odd provision in the rental binder that stated we couldn't take the trash out on the property, and were instead instructed to leave it in the laundry room. After 5 days, that got smelly so we drove the trash into town. We also had a bit of trouble getting the cable to work; since we weren't watching that much TV, it wasn't a big deal. My mother-in-law found some glass in a door shag rug; we rolled that up and there was a small leak in the sunroom during a particularly heavy storm.

Owner's Response: Thanks for staying with us Caroline, With regard to the trash- it can't be left outside because wildlife tends to meddle with it if it's not locked up. We are so sorry the satellite update interfered with your viewing! We always encourage all of our guests to reach out to us with any questions, concerns or issues as they come up so that we can attend to them promptly! Thanks again, Austin & Charles

Quaint and roomy--enjoyed the property!

  • 4 of 5

The property was quaint and roomy and perfect for the family of 4 adults and three kids. It was strategically located 15 min. to town and near I 25. We enjoyed it a lot.

Beautiful and Comfotable! Wish we didn't have to leave!

  • 5 of 5

The kitchen was well-equipped which we enjoyed with our kids. It's true it's only 15 minutes drive (pretty drive down Old Santa Fe Trail) to the Plaza and yet totally private! We had fun with the games and puzzles and appreciate Linda'sand Cameron's suggestions of things to do. A day to Madrid and the old town of Cerrillos on the way showed us a side of the area we didn't know about.

Great stay and would definitely like to come back as soon as possible!
