Great place to stay in Damascus
We spent three nights here on a long weekend to ride the Virginia Creeper Trail. The cabin is right on the trail, not 50 feet from the back porch. It's very clean and comfortable. The cabin is located at the mid-point of the trail, 17 miles to White Top and 17 miles to Abingdon, making it very convenient to ride in either direction.
We didn't do any cooking, but the small kitchen was well-equipped. We especially enjoyed sitting out on the back porch watching the bikers ride by and listening to the sounds of Laurel Creek in the background. Very idyllic. Can't imagine it being more peaceful.
We had lunches in Damascus after our rides at the Mojo and the Damascus Brewery. Both within 100 feet of the trail and good food. For dinners, we ventured out to Abingdon two nights, eating at the Tavern and Morgan's. Both were excellent. One night we went up to Meadowview to the Harvest Table. Also highly recommended.
Sun Dog/Damascus Adventures were our outfitter and I recommend them. They are friendly and fun! The got us up to White Top and Abington for our rides back to Damascus.
Abingdon is a gem and we enjoyed spending non-biking time there. Saw a play at the Barter Stage II one night and took in the Highland Arts Festival another. It's only about a 15 minute drive form the cabin.
The owner is very responsive and got back to us immediately when we had questions. The coffee pot didn't work one morning and we had a new one the next morning.
We will definitely stay here again when we come back!

Lovely view of Laurel Creek/Connects with Virginia Creeper Trail
We enjoyed our stay immensely. Particularly the sound and view of Laurel Creek. The deck overlooking the creek was a huge selling point for me. And there is a path down to the Virginia Creeper trail that runs from White Top down through Damascus over to Abingdon. Terrific, scenic biking. The cabin was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom small, but sufficient and clean. The kitchen was also sufficient and clean. Thank you for AC. While we didn't use the fireplace, it is nice for fall and winter. I must say, the photos on VRBO don't do the property justice. We thought it was nicer in person than it looked on VRBO. Hope to return. Thank you!
It was beautiful and the perfect nature escape
