Piper's Path Oceanfront Beach House

Bedrooms 4
Space 1,300 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Welcome to our special piece of Nova Scotia paradise! This post and beam home is located on a 2.3 acre oceanfront lot overlooking the warm waters of the Northumberland Strait. The community is called Dr's Brook and is a 15 minute drive from the town of Antigonish. The house has an unparalleled view of the ocean, P.E.I. across the straight, and gorgeous sunsets off the west deck.

The beach is only 100 feet away from the house where you can swim, snorkel, walk, look for fossils, collect snail shells or just relax and soak up the sun. From the deck you can watch eagles, hawks, blue herons, hummingbirds and loons fly by when you aren't busy laughing at the seals and whales as they frolic in the ocean on their way to their fishing grounds.

The beach is very quiet, as there are only 3 other cottages nearby. The house is ideal for families or couples looking for privacy and relaxation near the ocean.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Debbie, We surely did enjoy our stay and are hopeful we will be able to go back next year. The weather was great up until the night before we left.and the house was perfect. No one wanted to go home. My three year old granddaughter thinks we should just live there forever. Let me know when you put up your schedule for next summer.

Thanks again for sharing such a wonderful place.

Laid back hideaway

  • 5 of 5

We were at Piper's Path May 18-28, 2017. It is a very comfortable house right on the ocean. We awoke each morning to the sound of lobster boats working their traps just off the beach and it was fun to use the provided binoculars to see the lobster fisherman working. We saw several bald eagles and even a red fox from the deck and we enjoyed walking the rocky beach looking for treasures. We were very impressed by the people we met on our trip. Without exception, everyone was very friendly and concerned that we enjoyed our visit to Canada. We did a day trip to drive the Cabot Trail on Cape Breton that was very worthwhile, although a long 10 hour day. We were there before tourist season begins, so some activities weren't open yet, but we enjoyed our time in Nova Scotia and would certainly return to Piper's Path. In the nearby community of Arasaig, everyone we met knew the owners of Piper's Path and seemed to hold them in high regard. I give this vacation rental a big "thumbs up".

All that and a bag of chips!

  • 5 of 5

6 long time friends rendez-voused for our 20 year reunion. This place was perfect. lots of space including the open floor plan and deck to hang out together, separate area downstairs, lots of outdoor space and waves to wash away hangovers. It was a bit of a drive (20 minutes) into town but it was no big deal. All of us are thinking about bringing our families back in the future. Our weather was perfect but even with rain the place is big enough that you wouldn't have to worry about cabin fever. Debbie was very easy to deal with gave great directions, instructions, etc.

This property is a wonderful place to stay. My husband and I were there and enjoyed the wonderful views from the great deck, the sunsets and stars at night. The beach is great for walking on and exploring the rock pools.

It is a very relaxing spot for a couple but would also be a great place to return to with extended family.

It was spotlessly clean and equipped with everything we wanted and more!

Debbie was very easy to communicate with, answering all our questions promptly and accurately.

We would definitely return to this property.

Amazing place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Pipers Path and had a fantastic time. The cottage is well-appointed with everything we needed. The location is spectacular. We enjoyed walks along the ocean, beautiful sunsets from the huge deck, ocean sounds to fall asleep to, and starry night skies. The area is quiet but close to town and a good base for day trips to surrounding areas. But leaving the cottage is hard as there is so much to enjoy on this lovely property, you really don't need to go anywhere at all. Highly recommend and would definitely come back if the opportunity presents itself :-)

Geoff Goult, Lancaster, England

  • 5 of 5

We booked this fabulous beach front house from England to bring our daughter and her family, who live in the Halifax region of Nova Scotia, on a vacation.

We had loads of detailed plans of where would go, where we might dine and things we should try to do. I don't know if it's the tranquillity of the beach house or the rejuvenating effect of being of the ocean, but all of those plans lost their priority as soon as we walked through the door.

We have seen, at the cottage, an Eagle, Bald we think, cormorants, seals, ducks and loons. On our travels to buy lobster for supper we have seen 2 foxes and 2 red squirrels, one in the mouth of the second fox.

The location is fabulous, the property is perfectly lovely. All of its description on this site is very accurate and people from 9 to sixty something and beyond will find it more than adequate.

We are already talking about coming back.

Awesome Stay

  • 5 of 5

A group of us stayed here for 3 nights, while attending our daughter's graduation from St. FX. The house was amazing. Very clean and bright. Cozy inside and well equipped. Saw a whale, and spend one morning watching the lobster boats and fishermen setting the traps. You have your own beach to walk and hunt for shells and sea glass. Had a fantastic stay. Debbie is readily available for you and your questions. Hope to rent this place again when we all get together for a St. FX friends and family weekend. Highley recommend this rental.
