About Phil Chavanne
My name is Phil Chavanne and I am a property manager for the Lone Star River Ranch. My staff and I manage 5 ranches in central Texas offering large venues for family reunions, vacations, corporate events, and weddings.
Phil Chavanne purchased this Estate in 2017
Why Phil Chavanne chose Lohn
One of the great opportunities that this ranch provides is the chance to roam and explore at your leisure. With over 20 miles of smooth roads our guests have the chance to relax and discover the unfolding landscape with any high clearance vehicle. The ranch also provides a 5 acre pond stocked with Florida Bass, and several others as well.
What makes this Estate unique
There are countless unique aspects to this property but the one that stands out the most is the incredible river access. There are 5 miles of navigable river on the northern and eastern borders of the ranch which allow for groups to canoe or kayak for hours.

Great place for lots of people to stay and be able to gather together in one place.
We enjoyed sitting outside after it began to cool down. Lots of room outside for the kids to run amuck. Lots of places to sleep and the kitchen is outstanding!
A real surprise. A classy getaway.
Huge place - we didn’t see everything. The managers did a great job selling us on the place and telling us everywhere to go. I’m a city girl and don’t like the country very much; I thought it would be too rustic - but I have to admit I had a great time. And its a super clean place in the country - even for a city girl.
Your family will love this place
My family and I have had 10 straight family reunions north of Brownwood and this year we decided to make a change. What a great decision. The Lone Star River Ranch has so much more room than the places we’ve stayed before., and more to do. I haven’t been able to walk around on so much land since I was a kid (70 years ago) and the land was nothing like this (I’m not a Texas native) We loved exploring the place every day and the owners are doing a great job making it into something special. We caught catfish in the river and I went rock and feather hunting with my grand daughters. A refreshing 4 star facility. Thanks for the memories at Lone Star!
Like the Good ole days
It was a great reunion at the Lone Star River Ranch. Phil was easy to get ahold of when we needed something. We were there for 2 days and didn’t see half the place. What we did see we loved. Coyotes running and turtles on the riverbank and lots of trails to explore. At one point our group got out of the truck and just walked across a field for an hour for no reason at all. I love places like this.
Annie, it was kind of you to write a review. I'm glad the weather treated you well and that you were all able to make the dates work. Sounds like you saw a lot while you were here. Thanks again!
Great place. Just as advertised. During the day everyone scattered across the ranch to walk around or go fishing and then we met back at mealtimes. Two guys found arrowheads on the river. Lots to do. No complaints.
We appreciate your review! Glad you got to explore the great outdoors. We're excited to have you again next year.
Even better than expected
My family and I were very impressed with this property. More than we expected to be. The lodge is absolutely huge. And right down to the silverware everything was first class. (Something you can’t tell by the pictures). Half the meals were catered and the other half we cooked ourselves. Phil set up the catering for us and we were very pleased with how prompt it was and the food was great. The kitchen is hard to beat. There is no possibility of being interrupted by neighbors and you can stay up late and be as loud as you like. Off of the porch there is this big sprawling view of the Colorado River and there were deer and more turkey than Ive seen before. Most VRBO houses are just places you stay while you go on vacation - but this place is the vacation. Satisfied customer.
It was great working with you guys again this year. Thank you for all of the positive feedback that you gave us before, during and after your stay. It's more helpful than you know. Blessings to your family in the New Year.
