One bedroom is closed off where I keep my belongings while renting out the house. Queen sofa bed in den, very comfortable, and a good amount of privacy away from the other bedrooms. One bathroom with shower attached to master bedroom, second bathroom with tub/shower off hallway. A 5-minute drive gets you to the beach on Sullivan's Island and 15 minutes to downtown Charleston. A huge live oak with a rope swing keeps the front of the house in shade and the back yard is sunny and fenced. Linens, towels, beach towels and chairs provided. Washer/dryer in utility room off the deck. Great location to leave the car behind and get around on foot or by bike. Some bikes in back room. Bike rental shop close by. Alhambra Hall is close by with comparable views, a playground, and public restroom. Visit the Pitt St. Pharmacy for an old-fashioned soda fountain where you can sit on revolving stools and order a grilled cheese and malted. Shem Creek is home to shrimp and fishing boats, restaurants on the water where you can watch the pelicans and dolphins, and kayak and SUP rentals. Bike/pedestrian path over causeway to Sullivans Island makes it very easy to leave the car behind. Bike/pedestrian lane on Ravenel bridge into Charleston makes going into town without the car a great option. Free parking at the Mt Pleasant Waterfront Park beneath the Ravenel bridge allows access to fishing pier, walks across the bridge, and great scenery and sunsets. Restaurants, shopping, services all close at hand. Please note there is a 5 night minimum stay. Flexibility on check-in/check-out times depending on bookings. Well behaved and flea-treated pets welcome.

About Eve Gentieu
I first came to Charleston from Philadelphia in 1975 to attend the College of Charleston and ended up staying. I taught middle school science, became a rural carrier for the post office, and most lately worked in an elementary school as librarian. Now that I have retired, I have become migratory between Philadelphia and Mt Pleasant as I love the northern winters and the southern summers and have family in both places. Nature is my passion, and my summer ritual is to walk the Sullivan's Island beach at daybreak looking for the tracks of nesting loggerhead turtles who lay eggs between mid-May and mid-August. Wherever I am, I spend time hiking, bicycling, and birding.
Eve Gentieu purchased this House in 1990
Why Eve Gentieu chose Old Village
We were renting in this neighborhood from 1977 and loved the location, so bought a house. This was way before Mt Pleasant became the hot spot it is today.
What makes this House unique
I love being so close to the marsh, the beach, and downtown. I love being able to ride my bike through the Old Village to downtown, or out to the beaches. The neighborhood is quiet, green, and friendly.
