Everything about this location and it's description was accurate. The directions perfect.
The property was clean and well maintained. The owner made you feel like he has known you for a long time. He is so kind! (rare these days)
I really don't think that the pictures or description can even come close to actually seeing the beauty.
Everything is within 10min or so and yet it is quiet and private.
We will be back very soon.

The Yellow Chalet was awesome in so many ways! The views, the wildlife, the peace and quiet. The views were out of this world, you can see for miles and miles. You can see Douglas Lake from the deck. The pool was right out your front door and across the driveway. The chalet itself roomy, clean, beautifully furnished and the beds sleep so good. Nice big bathrooms and you have washer & dryer right there to do the laundry. The road is a mountain road but its worth every trip in and out . Was there for a week and the trips seem to get better. When you can stop and see the bear or walk out on your deck and see bear its awesome. Makes you thank God for the beautiful blessings he has bestowed upon us. If you want and like nature please go for this property . The owner, David was so very helpful
and got back to me right away rather by text or email and even phone calls. Can't say enough about this property or the owner !!!
This pretty 3 bedroom, 2 bath Chalet on a cul-de-sac with a shared swimming pool across from it has an amazing panaramic view of the mountains and Gatlinburg below!
We watched Dollywood's fireworks from afar above the city on our first night there, and the city lights at night are cool to look at also, but the mountain views are stunning!
I also watched a heat lightning display one evening that was awesome!
It is a climb to the top, but once you master it, it may take 9-10 minutes going up and about 8 or 9 to come down (I found 2nd gear to be very helpful for both!). The road is windy but better than others since it is above some main attractions, and even my daughter that is afraid of driving on mountains mastered it both day and night.
You're close to the Gatlinburg bypass, so easy to get through to Pigeon Forge, or you're in Gatlinburg within probably about 12 minutes.
The main entrance to the Smokies is also at the foot of the hill as well as the scenic drive to Cades Cove.
This also looks like it would be a great place for someone that may be elderly.
There's a main floor bedroom and bathroom, and the bathroom has a seat and hand shower as well as a regular shower.
There isn't a HotTub but there's a large jacuzzi bath in an open area between two bedrooms upstairs.
There's also a small game table next to it that might entertain some children.
The one small downfall (for now?)in my opinion is that there isn't wifi available, but that could be a good thing!
The super nice owner responds to every question in a reasonable time.
We had a couple of questions early on that we'd asked through texting and he always got back with us with an answer.
This "yellow" chalet was at the top of the mountain. The view was spectacular via the porch/balcony and even offered a distant Dolly Land fireworks (for free) on a nightly basis.
Travelers should know that the area is secluded and serene. There are other chalets within the cul-de-sac but this 20-minute each ride up and down the mountain was well worth it.
The chalet was clean and well supplied w/cooking utensils, dishes, an outdoor grill, an indoor hot tub and sauna, towels, etc.
The owner was attentive, answered promptly all of my phone calls, e-mails, texts. He is definitely one of a kind. He was attentive to my needs and VERY open to suggestions ....
This is our third year staying at this beautiful chalet. Needless to say, we love it! David is wonderful to work with and makes sure everything is to your liking. The best thing we love about this chalet is the view from the back decks. Beautiful and splendid does not do it justice! Definitely worth the drive up the mountain!
We are already planning next years trip and will definitely be staying here!
This house has an awesome view with beautiful sunrises with a view of clouds over the city. The night views, you can see the lights down in the city and above you millions of stars. As a bear lover, the interior bear decorations are perfect for the area. The location is at the very top above everything, yet close to everything. Some VRBO's claim Gatlinburg area, but you're in Pigeon Forge or some other area. This is the area you want. I've been going to the Smokies about 20 years and the drive is not that bad. Some of the lower ones are worse. Use the by-pass and it alleviates some of the steepness on the way down especially. Flat driveway right in front of the house, easy to load and unload. More houses next to you, but was very quiet and never saw anyone else. The owner, Dave, is great to work with. Very accommodating and informative. If this is your first trip to the Smokies, make sure to visit Cade's Cove, ( views, history, and wildlife, take a cooler and pack a lunch. Take your time, be patient and really look in the grasses, woods, and up in trees if you want to see the wildlife), the Roaring Fork motor tour, traffic light #8, ( couple of nice hikes in that area, Rainbow Falls and the easier Grotto Falls), drive up to Newfound Gap( the North Carolina/Tennesee border, Appelachian trail, awesome views), further up to Clingmans Dome ( highest elevation, paved but exerting. Take your time, worth the view.) Lots of hiking trails, my favorite is Chimney Tops, but stop at Sugarland visitor center to chose one best for you. Downtown Gatlinburg, plenty of restaurants, shopping, and activities. The craft area is a loop road with tons of different craft items from soaps to wood works and some beautiful area paintings. It's at traffic light #3 I believe. The grocery store/gas station Food City, is on that road also, along with a little BBQ place called the Hungry Bear. Get it to go, and enjoy it at the Chimney Top picnic area, unless you want to BBQ yourself there or pack a lunch. Very relaxing next to the river. Keep a jacket/sweater with you, as temps vary and can get cold in different areas quickly ( upper elevations and shaded streams). So much to do and not enough time. The only thing I didn't like was the name, yellow house. You need to name it, like Beary Beautiful View or unBearable to leave, something with bear in it. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.
