Interaction with guests

Francis’s home is located in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. The lower Treme is a distinctly local and historic neighborhood with blocks of interesting Creole architecture. Rich in cultural history, many New Orleans greats have called the lower Treme home: Jelly Roll Morton, Sidney Bechet, civil rights activists, Mardi Gras Indians, Brass Bands, and Second Line parade leaders. Our home is a short stroll from Frenchmen Street, and the French Quarter is only slightly further afield.
With that said, you have to be the type of person or group that is comfortable in a transitional neighborhood. Renovations are happening all around this historically working class, Black, Creole, and Italian community because of its central proximity and vibrant culture. As with any New Orleans neighborhood, common sense is the rule as far as safety is concerned.
The best way to get around is by foot, bike, taxi, or Uber. For cycling enthusiasts, New Orleans is an eminently bikeable city, and there are several rental and tour companies in close proximity (we especially recommend Bicycle Michael’s on Frenchmen Street). The Quarter and the Marigny are both within walking distance, and other hotspots such as The Bywater neighborhood and Magazine Street are a short cab ride away.
Other things to note
Payment is due in full at time of booking (no deposits or holds). Airbnb retains a separate security deposit in escrow which is fully refundable.
The 5th bedroom is a converted den. It is the only bedroom in the house that is "walkthrough".
