Great cabin on a quiet lake for families
Very nice house with fantastic views of the lake. Lake itself is quiet and all sand by dock perfect for kids to swim. Excellent muskie lake. Updated appliances in kitchen and laundry area, no cable TV and 1 channel on intenna. Managed by very friendly resort owners about a mile away. They were easy to contact and nice people to work with. Only minor issue was parking, 2 vehicles allowed or risk towing. Overall excellent place for a summer getaway, well managed.
Great comfortable house for 3 generations. Would definitely return
We vacationed with our children and grandchildren. Everyone had a ball. The lake is fantastic. Great beach for kids.
Nice rental, not a lot extras
My review is a bit long, but includes the things that I think other families would like to know when choosing a rental. Our family stayed in this rental from 06/16/18 - 06/23/18 and overall, it was a very nice place to stay.
Pros: The house was very nice. It has a large kitchen, comfortable furniture, lots of windows with great lake views. The master bedroom on the first floor had plenty of room, along with a full bathroom. The rest of the bedrooms were upstairs and they share a full bathroom as well. The rental is located steps from the lake, which is great for fishing - we caught northern pike, walleye, small mouth bass, and almost caught a muskie! There was a nice fire pit by the lake, and wood was provided.
Cons: This rental was rather expensive. Yes, it was nice, but it was lacking the “extra” things that we have come to expect from a rental at this price range. Our family has been renting WI lake cabins for several years and usually rentals in this price range include at least one more of the following: A. Land or hiking trails: this rental is on a single lot, so there is no land or hiking trails to explore. B. Motor boat: while there is a row boat and canoe provided for guest use, rentals at this price often include some type of fishing boat or at least an outboard motor. (it should be noted when we asked about renting a motor for the week, we were given the names of some businesses in the area that we could rent from - most at a price of $200 or more) C. Cable TV: there is no cable TV, in fact there is a note on the TV informing guests that it only has one channel, and we couldn’t even get that one channel to come in. There is a dvd player, but only three dvd’s to watch. Cell phone reception was hit or miss, and we were unable to locate a radio of any kind, so when storms were in the area, there was no way to know about any severe weather. (The rental did have working WIFI)
To be fair, we knew about some of these things but figured there was a reason for the higher price, but unfortunately we were disappointed.
Beautiful, secluded cabin on a peaceful lake.
The cabin was spacious and modern with all the amenities. Perfect for a getaway in the Northwoods.
