Welcome to our home away from home! You'll love our 2 bedroom condo. It features all the amenities, offers peace & quiet away from the hustle and bustle, and is the perfect place to unwind. The 2 bedrooms are spacious and provide plenty of room for your luggage. You'll be greeted with modern fixtures, vinyl plank flooring throughout, and a relaxing vibe. Some features include TWO a/c units and ceiling fans to keep you cool. We provide all furnishings, linens, dishes, etc. for your personal use. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need (pots, pans, utensils, flatware, dishes, etc.). Appliances include the refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, toaster oven, rice cooker, mixer, and coffee maker. The comfortable living room is located just off of the kitchen and includes access to the full sized lanai. The lanai backs to a large, lush greenbelt with beautiful trees..perfect when a breeze comes through. This first floor unit is a short distance from your reserved parking space and the on-site laundry facility. Also...you won't have to carry your luggage up several flights of stairs! Major ++++.

This Condominium is located in the peaceful community of Makaha Valley. The community offers many amenities. Twenty-four hour gated/guarded entry, 2 swimming pools, kiddie pools, spa's, barbecue areas, tennis, and basketball courts. We provide WiFi at our condo for your convenience. The friendly, on-site management office offers fax & copy service...if this is a working vacation. The landscaping is plentiful and is well taken care of. There are also gorgeous peacocks that roam the complex.

Just down the street is the famous Makaha Beach. Around the other corner is the golf course with mountain views. If you enjoy beaches, golfing, and shopping minus the crowds...this is the place for you. But Waikiki is still just an hour away.

The airport is 40 minutes away. Shopping, commercial restaurants, the movie theaters, even a water park for the kids is located in Kapolei just a short 20 minute drive. The well known Ko'Olina Resort featuring the "Paradise Cove Luau", is a short 20 minute drive too!! Local restaurants, grocery stores, Aloha wear shopping, and fast food (Starbucks, Jamba Juice, McDonalds, Burger King, Pizza Hut, etc.) is 5 minutes away. We do provide a small assortment of beach equipment and beach towels too! Golfing...Beaches...Beautiful mountain views...all at an affordable price. This is country living...Hawaiian Style.

About The Owner

We are from Arizona and traveled to Hawaii for the first time in 2005. We decided we wanted a getaway there and decided to purchase a 2nd home in Makaha Valley.

The Owner purchased this condo in 2006

Why The Owner chose Mākaha Valley

We decided on Makaha Valley because we wanted quiet beaches and wanted to avoid the crowds. Makaha was the perfect place for us. We love the local beaches and local eateries. We find something new every time we visit. Makaha Beach and Keawaula Beach are our favorites. Our favorite west side hike is the Pink Pillbox Hike. Our favorite "hidden" find are the west side Mermaid Caves. All within a very short drive from our Hawaiian Getaway.

What makes this condo unique

When we purchased our home we looked at several areas on Oahu. When we made it to Makaha Valley, we knew it was the right location. We looked at several choices and feel we made the best choice with our home. I liked that it was a ground floor unit, which meant I would not have to struggle with suitcases up and down the stairs. Only the ground floor units have a full size lanai..another plus. I loved our location, because it backs to a great greenbelt area that has lush, gorgeous trees and grass. It is centrally located to the laundry facilities, management office, pools, etc. It also has beautiful mountain views all around and is convenient to the entry/exit to the community.

Very clean condo, beautiful views, safe and secure.

We (4 adults) stayed beginning of December and had a wonderful time. Condo was clean, well equipped, plenty of beach equipment ( boards, towels, snorkeling gear, totes, etc.). The only drawback was the rude neighbor ( Becky's response to our complaint was quick) and distance from beach and town ( our own responsibility for not figuring this out before going ). If you are looking for a quiet neighborhood, relaxing environment and beautiful scenery, this is the place !!! Would definitely go back, but stay in different unit. MN Family

A word of caution

My family and I recently spent a 1 month vacation in this unit. Having stayed in the Makaha Valley the past 6 years, this was our 1st year in the Plantation. This unit was one of the least expensive options in the Plantation, so we did not expect anything fancy upon arrival. As expected, the unit did reflect the price we paid. It wasn't horrible but unfortunately, it was not as clean as previous comments had mentioned. Very dirty carpet (stains), fridge needed a good scrub and the linens and pillows were in desperate need of an update. It is rented to sleep 6 however, I would not recommend.The 3rd sleeping option is only a blow up bed (which we were aware of), however, it did have a slow leek in it. To rent out for 6, I would suggest a pull out couch.We are a very well traveled family so these things did not bother us too much at the time, and we continued on with our stay.The Plantation itself is nice. They keep the grounds well maintained and having the pool area is very nice to have. The complex is very well secured, however, not extremely kid friendly. They don't allow any playing on the grass areas, as well as no toys of any sort in the pool area. They don't want a resort feel so just be prepared for that. This unit is well located as it is central to both pools.

Unfortunately we had an issue with the shower tap the night prior to leaving. This caused running water for over 7 hours until a plumber could be called in (with no fault to anyone) The result was a very wet bathroom, the water in the entire building having to be shut off and I'm sure a not so nice bill to the owner. In the renters policy, it states the only requirement when leaving is to empty all garbage.We left the unit in such a good state, cleaners would maybe have 1 hour of cleaning.My disappointment came upon our return home when we were advised our damage deposit would not be refunded.I was advised by the owner that it was left in very poor condition. We were now being charged for things that we arrived to in the 1st place (stains), general cleaning (wiping counters, cleaning floors, rearranging furniture was considered excess cleaning ) or things resulting from the plumbing issue (fan running to help moisture, expanded bathroom door, picture on floor).We were now being punished for a maintenance bill she was trying to re-coupe some cost for. Please rent with caution and ensure to take photos on arrival and departure to cover yourself for any discrepancies. Jodi Calgary AB

Owner's Response: Unfortunately this is a case of a renter not wanting to take personal responsibility for the deplorable manner in which they left the home. We have used the same cleaning company for 10+ years and when they send a statement in big bold print that states "THE UNIT WAS LEFT IN VERY POOR CONDITION", then I know it must be the case. According to their statement this guest left the unit with stains on carpeting, stains on bedding linens and even stains on the curtains. What the guest did not know, what that all kitchen, bedding and bathroom linens had been changed out the month before. So they were new, so no way they could have been damaged by another party. They left all appliances filthy (even had butter in the fridge..just on the shelf...no dish under it). They had spills on the counter, which seeped into the top cabinets requiring additional cleaning. They damaged tablecloths as well. They left ice chests strewn about, and sand everywhere. Even had spills on the bathroom counters that seeped into the cabinet underneath. Left every cabinet, closet, or storage area in disarray. Lastly had old beer cans with cigarette butts left behind...in a NON SMOKING unit. In addition the fact the plumbing repair that was needed. We were contacted in the middle of the night and it was addressed by the morning. The water was shut down during the time of the repair only. Still unsure how that repair originated, but it was quickly addressed. The guest was not charged for anything related to that, but rather the damage and excessive cleaning needed due to their behavior. We were more than fair in not sending them the bill for the additional cleaning needed, which their deposit didn't even cover it all. There was no complaint at all about the condition of the home the entire time they were there. When told about the deposit not being returned, all of a sudden they left the home in great condition. Or it was the cleaners trying to be over paid. Basically someone elses fault, but their own. We've had this home for over 10 years and have never had someone leave it in the condition this guest did. If you are considering renting to them, I would advise collecting a large deposit up front. And I do agree with the guests, to take photos upon arrival. So they can see how they TRULY leave and respect an owners home and won't be able to blame others for their own actions.

No surprises!!!!

This was the first time I’ve ever used this type of service so I was extremely leery. Ms Becky was quick to respond to all my questions and concerns. She understood my hesitation and made me feel a lot better after emailing back and forth.

We got there on a Saturday so had to check in with security with no issues! We were there for 9 days and it was perfect. Security and staff were awesome. I will most definitely use this in the future if available. Thank you for everything!

Nice and comfortable.

The only downfall was the a.c. unit in condo. When we checked in the condo was very hot. Otherwise enjoyed our stay and look forward to renting the unit again in another year.

Five Stars well deserved!!!

I have nothing but GREAT things to say about this rental and the owner. First off the vacation rental is located in an area where there is 24 hour security which made me feel safe and left me worry free about our car rental. It is gated so you will have to have a pass to get in. It is very close to the beach. The rental was very clean upon our arrival. What I loved is it had many of the necessities to get started so we didn't have to immediately run out to the store to get some (toilet tissue/paper towel/trash bags/ soap etc.). Kitchen had many pans, pots, utensils for cooking and eating! The beds are very comfortable! There are toys, dvds, and books that kept my kids entertained. There are even things for the beach so we didn't have to go out and buy things (beach towels, coolers, beach chairs etc.)! It was a pleasure doing business with the owner. She always responded to my emails in a timely manner. Our deposit was also returned very swiftly! Overall this vacation rental was perfect!!! It really felt like home to us while we were there. I am so glad we found this rental and definitely look forward to renting it the next time were there.
