This is a beautiful piece of property, perfect for a nice quiet getaway
More space and privacy than any hotel, Farid made sure to have some basic items in the house as well so you dnt have to scramble the first day on your vacation.
Internet works great too.
Nice shower room with HOT water.
Next time I go to Oregon this will be the place i choose to stay.
Thanks very much for your positive feedback and review Christian. We try had to offer a great value with this house and I am very happy to hear that it suited your needs during your visit to Portland. Please do not hesitate to look me up in your next visit, as we'd love to get the opportunity to host you and your family again.
Missing a few touches
The inside of the house matched the pictures exactly and was clean and comfortable.
We felt there could be a few improvements - we stay in a house so we can enjoy the outdoors but the grass was knee high and remained that way our entire stay so could spend time outside. It was hard to open the windows and if we could open most did not have screens so we could not leave open. Adjusting the fan would be easier if a pull was attached instead of a ladder.
It would be a good place to stay if these things were resolved.
Thanks so much for providing the review and feedback. We had the landscaping folks show up on the day the guests left. We had them scheduled to come on a Monday, but they postponed till Wednesday. The house is on 1.3 acre of property and vegetation grows very fast. It has already been taken care of for the current guests and we plan to do it weekly rather than bi-weekly. The house vintage is from the 50's and some areas have been remodeled and some areas are in process of remodeling. We have fixed the windows to make them functional, but they are older style wood frame windows that we plan to upgrade over time. We try to provide a good value at about $80 per night for the full 1200+ sq. foot house, and do realize that its not new construction. We do have number of reviews and feedback with guests fully happy given the value at this site as well as other vacation rental sites.
Feedback is always appreciated and we take action right away. It would also be helpful if guests provide their feedback during their stay, so that we can address issues right away.
We had a great time and the host was very responsive and a wonderful communicator!
We truly enjoyed our stay in this secluded home/cottage in the woods which turned out to be 10 min from daughters home in Beaverton. We were 10 min to MAX rail system which we took everyday to Portland. Wonderful shopping centers with 10-12 min away. Fred is a gracious host and cares about our every need. The home sets back from the highway in the woods. The exit is a little bit of a challenge pulling out. We will be back!
Thanks very much Rick. You and your family are always welcome back and I'm glad you chose to spend the Holidays at our house in the Portland area !!! The house is uniquely located on an acre of undeveloped residential land, amongst fully developed neighborhoods surrounding it. The trees and long gravel driveway add excellent privacy for families with kids and pets, at a great value, while close to shopping and public transit as Rick elegantly points out.
