Come here to recharge - whether that means taking advantage of all of the hiking, kayaking, biking, & other invigorating activities the area offers, or relaxing and sharing quiet time, or plenty of both! Take in this stunning, natural setting including wild elk, birds of prey, quiet deer, river otters, and the sounds of the creek, right from the 2nd story deck outside your bedroom, or from the larger deck off the dining room, which includes outdoor seating and a nice gas BBQ. Just renovated & listed in December 2017. A 2nd cabin is also available to rent that is about 1/4 mile down the road. It is called Stone Lagoon Cabin, sleeps 4, and is on our website and can be helpful as an additional rental if your need to sleep more than 2. Enjoy the warm pellet stove fireplace. Spacious bedroom w/ sitting area & large bathroom w/ shower, upstairs, and then the Kitchen & Dining Area are on the first floor. A short drive to the Prairie Creek Redwoods National & State Park. And, a wonderful walk or bike ride (we supply 2 bikes for you) to Dry Lagoon Park & Stone Lagoon Park. This cabin is located right near the end of a quiet country road. We have a large privacy fencen for the quiet caretaker who is located in a little unit next to yours during part of the year, ensuring that you have a very private & enjoyable stay!
Many world-class hiking trails are only fifteen minutes away. Enjoy a day at Redwood National and State Parks (RNSP), including Lady Bird Johnson Grove, Tall Trees Grove, Prairie Creek, Lost Man Creek, Trillium Falls; Humboldt Lagoons State Park or nearby Patrick’s Point SP. RNSP, Patrick’s Point and Prairie Creek offer wonderful events throughout the summer including Park Ranger led hikes, nature talks, and campfires. Great for kids of every age :)
And for the water lovers, what a paradise! The local lagoons offer great fishing, kayaking (you can rent kayaks at Stone Lagoon through Kayak Zak’s), canoeing, Stand Up Paddle Boarding, Surf fishing, boating and sailing.
There are two horseback ride companies and one bike rental in Orick plus several tour operators including Redwood Adventures.
Fun annual events held locally include the Orick Rodeo every July, as well as the Yurok Tribe's Sumeg Village Day, a celebration of the local Native American culture held at nearby Patrick's Point State Park.
