Notes:
Resort pool smart house really says it all. There's lots of tech or you can use the things without the tech in some cases. Lots of guests joke they don't want to leave just being at the home itself is the most enjoyable part of their vacation.

Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

This is a great house. There are a lot of little unexpected surprises throughout. It’s in a great spot with access to I4 down the street and shops and restaurants nearby. We would come back just to stay at this house, you don’t need to go to an amusement park with this backyard. The owner was also super awesome! When I needed something he responded right away. I would absolutely recommend staying here.

This house is amazing

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was awesome. My kids loved it! The house has everything you can ever need. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of space. The pool and outdoor kitchen is the perfect entertainment area. We spent most of our time out there. It was perfect!! Very tech savvy Bc it’s a smart house. Definitely would book again and next time have a longer stay.

Could be better

  • 3 of 5

Take this review in the context of a traveler who has stayed in enough vacation rentals to know that the best ones (1) have easy access, particularly during check in, (2) are not cluttered with the owner’s personal belongings, (3) don’t have countless rules to follow, and (4) require minimal or no work upon check out. This was not one of them.

It started with the wrong code provided through the VRBO app, which cause some anxiety upon check in. Luckily, Bill was responsive and the error was corrected but his take on the situation was “it’s really not a big deal”. I beg to differ, as part of my group was arriving earlier than me, and troubleshooting it from across the country created unnecessary stress.

Once we got into the house, it became clear that Bill lives there a significant part of the year. The fridge was full, and while many travelers may appreciate a well-stocked fridge, we expected it to be clear so that we can store food being prepped for an off-site reception nearby being held the next day. Closet space in the master was minimal.

The pages and pages of rules and how-to’s were disconcerting. We appreciate a high tech set-up, but it became less of interest when faced with the extra time needed to figure out the gadgetry. Adding on the request for pool maintenance and laundry was not something vacationers should have to handle.

By the end of our stay, we settled in and adapted. Would have appreciated knowing all the rules prior to booking as we may have opted for something simpler instead. For those who are less picky or bothered by these issues, this is a great property to stay in.

Owner's Response: First off I do not live there, and you now are the only group to date out of over 40 visits between multiple sites to ever not LOVE the fact that my house comes stocked with everything from sauces to bandaids. If you don't like something in the fridge that someone else has left or that i purchase for the house on an ongoing basis. you can simply throw it away it's honestly not that difficult. But I will not instruct my cleaner to throw away perfectly good food that isn't expired sorry that's wasteful and silly. I know I personally love to arrive at a destination with beer's and wine already waiting for me in a gift basket like we always provide funny you left this nice gesture out of your review though? If there is some ketchup and mustard and other things there too even better! less stuff I have to buy The code was wrong because vrbo requires this to be entered however I had recently spent hundreds of dollars on a new system that removes peoples codes and adds new ones for guests automatically an EXTREMELY nice security feature for all of my guests to enjoy that few other rentals are offering but vrbo doesn't publish phone numbers or this would have been sent to you automatically. There are a few basic rules but I'd love to know how you think I can make the "GADGETRY" easier in addition to being able to shout out most any command to the house and have it listen there are good ole fashioned light switches as well everywhere, other than writing out 4 laminated instruction pages that go over each luxury item you might be interested in using. Sorry I guess I should just remove all the pool pumps, heaters, fire pit, grill, cornhole boards etc etc etc I could keep going oh wait! then the house would be POINTLESS! but then you wouldn't have to be bothered with reading a couple of sentences about how to use the item. These 4 pages are found on vrbo's website in my listing and can definitely be accessed anytime. There is no pool maintenance required other than asking you to empty the strainer on the side every couple of days depending on time of year as there is someone that comes every week to do the pool maintenance. Asking a group to wash and dry at least one load of towels as your leaving so that my cleaning staff can get through all the laundry in the 4 hour period they are there, is hardly asking you to do the laundry. In your future endeavors, I recommend you stay at sandals resort I hear they wait on you hand and foot.

High Tech Home nestled by downtown Orlando

  • 5 of 5

This fun gem is tucked inside a peaceful neighborhood just on the outskirts of Orlando. A waterfall with a koi pond greets you at the front door and the shades automatically open when unlocking the door. Our 14 year-old twins loved discovering all the techy touches from the iPad home controls to the Google home commands. The pool area is off the hook with great amenities: fog machine, colored lights, rain feature, TV, hot tub, swim up bar just to name a few. We were in the area for just 3 days to take on Universal Studios and it was so nice to come home to our own pool/resort to unwind. The beds and pillows (Tempurapedic) were extremely comfortable. The only downside was not being able to watch the NCAA finals on the jumbo TV (streaming was blocked out). Happily, we were able to get it on our iPad...We would definitely recommend this home to any family with older kids.
