About Siesta Key Beach;

Siesta Key Beach is Sarasota's gateway to the sparkling waters of the Gulf of Mexico, an island that combines luxurious amenities with a relaxed vibe that appeals to both visitors and locals.

On the east side of this eight-mile long barrier island is Sarasota Bay and Florida's intra-coastal waterway. It's a scenic trail for boaters interested in exploring the mangrove forests that dot the area, dropping a line for snook or pompano, or cruising to Sarasota's dockside restaurants and pubs. On the island's west side are Siesta Key's glorious white sand beaches -- ranked number one in America in 2011 & 2016 by Dr. Beach -- and the calm waters of the Gulf. Take an early morning walk while dipping your toes in the surf; build sand castles, search for shells and soak up the warm sunshine in the afternoon; then find a comfortable spot in to view the postcard-perfect moment when the sun dips below the horizon and paints the sky in strokes of red and orange.

Down at the south end of Siesta Key you'll find more restaurants, shops and public beaches, as well as marina, fishing charters, and boat rental facilities. Within minutes, you can putter in a pontoon boat or slice through waves in a high-powered jet ski. Try parasailing for more high-flying adventure, where you'll experience a unique view of Siesta Key while suspended from a parachute over 100 feet in the air. Or exercise more than just your sense of wonder by renting a bike or a kayak to explore the island on your own.

Down at Siesta Beach, the aqua blue water comes gently from the Gulf. Unlike the rough mechanical waters of the Atlantic or Pacific, it comes to the shore licking the sand with a perpetual caress.

Visitors and locals alike, slowly stride the beach mornings, throughout the sun drenched days, and into the post sunset hour. Here they stand, mesmerized by the sky curving down to the invisible seam where the sun slowly recedes into the next day.

Standing there, as this day slips into the horizon, many take pictures, but most emblazon the spectacle into their memory, ever cognizant that this special event is one of the most relaxing times of their lives, they will surely recall who they were with.

Come join us for a truly tropical experience right here in Sarasota at Siesta Key, the enchanted island.

There's more to Siesta Key than just beaches and water. This island is a destination for all who stay or live in the Sarasota area thanks to the wide variety of entertainment and dining options that stretch its length. On the north end, a short walk from one of Siesta's large expanses of public beach, lies Siesta Key Village. In the village's quaint few blocks you'll find dozens of shops that cater to the island lifestyle, offering necessities like groceries and hardware alongside souvenirs and bathing suits. Siesta Key Village restaurants -- most with large, open-air dining -- range from pancake and egg joints to award-winning fine dining spots. No matter how fancy, though, dress codes are always casual: Sandals are not only allowed, they're expected.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I hope everything was in its proper place. We didn't have any problems with anything and truly enjoyed the location of your home. Other than a couple of the nights being a little cooler than expected all in all it was a great vacation. Thanks again and hope to get down there again in the coming year. We just got hit with 8 inches of snow today and the temperatures in the teens. Maybe I should have booked Christmas too! We just received our $500 security deposit in the mail.

Excellent location for beach , City, & exploring

  • 5 of 5

Home is well laid out to provide different schedules without interrupting everyone.

We had family drop in throughout the day, and it worked great. The best parking. We also rented 2 other homes, but this had the best parking situation. You can walk to beach, Siesta Key for shopping or dining. The AC worked appropriately, as did all the appliances.

Beautiful

  • 5 of 5

The house was clean and beautiful, with 2 outside entrances it was convenient to get all 14 of us out the door, it's the little things like doors that make vacationing easier. The pool area was fenced in and perfect for my little kids and little dogs who were fascinated with the lizards, the pool was clean and clear water, the kids almost lived in it and were a golden brown when left for Ohio. The beds were very comfortable with ample pillows and blankets, the tv's could had been in a better location, but no I really watched it lol, but it did have all the shows we had at home. There was plenty of parking as we were 4 family's parking mattered. There were plenty of cookware n plates n such for the times we ate in and grills, pool and beach toys, plenty of railing to hang towels, the amount of stuff he had for his guests to use was great. The walk to the beach was exciting for the kids, so much to see and the sand soo soft, even though they didn't like salt water lol it was so funny. The roof top was where the tweens and teens hung out and us oldies not so much. We had to get a hold of Robert once who was prompt in replying and fixed the light switch straight away, he was friendly and made us feel at home. I know I used great a lot in this review and thats because it was great, nice friendly people , neighbors, people walking their pets, kids riding bike, the people at the beach and the village people. I would recommend this house to every, thanks for having us Robert, ooo and fyi, I also got my deposit back that was a nice surprise

Thanks for the great timee

Sonja and David

Truly a Siesta Beach Hideaway

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 7 nights. We had 5 couples and a 2yr old. Full house. This place is all about location. A short walk to a great part of Siesta Key Beach. The access point is right at the top of the street. They had a beach cart there to haul, beach chairs, toys. It was nice to not have to buy/rent that stuff down there. We rented bicycles for our rides to the village, but it's definitely in walking distance too. The house a nice little pool to be able to get away from the sand. Roof top deck at night for grilling and enjoying the beautiful Florida weather. House was clean on arrival. Pool guy came to clean it mid week. No bug issues. Grill worked. I brought a travel hammock that fit between 2 trees in the yard for relaxation. It was really a great vacation for my family. Richard was great with answering any questions I had throughout the process, and called to check in on us when we arrived. Would definitely recommend this to people. Great price for a great location. Enjoy Siesta, it's hard not to.

Best Winter Vacation EVER!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to Siesta Key and my husband and I are hooked! We reserved the ‘Siesta Beach Hideaway’ based on the reviews and we could not have been more pleased. Our parents and brother joined us on the third week. Plenty of room & privacy when you want it.It is the PERFECT location for walking to the beach and to the Village! We enjoyed relaxing on the breezy rooftop deck in the morning with our coffee before heading to the beach for a walk or run. The house was clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed spending time at the beach as well as some day trips. The house also has high speed internet which is a must if you need to get some work done. With such a great property, it was very enjoyable to stay in and not have to go out all the time as happens in less nicer rentals!

We enjoyed Myakka State Park and Anna Maria Island. We also loved going to Casey Key. Our favorite place to eat was Casey Key Fish House. The Hub in the Village was another favorite! We plan to visit again and hopefully bring our children and grandchildren! We would highly recommend Siesta Beach Hideaway as a place to stay in Siesta Key! In general terms, we had a great vacation and would return to this same property anytime. I strongly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great vacation! The thing that places the Siesta Beach Hideaway apart from the others is it's location…one block walk to a spectacular white sandy beach. In the other direction is a nice handholding walk to the village for quality time at the Daiquiri Deck. Third direction leads to a nice wandering walk through some really nice/rich/quiet neighborhoods. Eva & Harold

Owner's Response: The Grantham's just got home & emailed to reserve a month long stay for 2017. We are so fortunate to have repeat guests each year and it validates out constant efforts to keep this property up to what families expect in a vacation rental.

Second Trip Back next year to follow

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at the Siesta Beach Hideaway with my fiancé in 2014 right after we got engaged. Celebrating there for 2 weeks with my parents and hers, we fell in love with Sarasota and especially Siesta Key. The house has all the makings of a relaxing, quiet, and accessible vacation spot. The beach is only a short walk and the white sand beach is breathtaking. We were so happy Bob told us about Sunday evening ‘Drum circle’ at the beach. It was a last & we all got up and danced to the drums. (after a few beers). We returned in 2015 with friends and other relatives. They remodeled the bathrooms, and they are great. Just left last week and decided to book our wedding on the beach next Summer. The minister gave us the name of a planner that takes care of everything and we are so excited to get back here. If you are thinking about renting this property, stop thinking and just book. Gustave

Aspects to consider

  • 1 of 5

The person that is thinking on rent this property should know that : The owners live in the property in the garage! Therefore this is sub lease and NOT a vacation property and this MUST be stated on the rent agreement. On top of that , this a dirty and low maintenance house. There were cockroachs everywhere . The shower has a one inch mark all around demonstrating permanent clogging problems. Also , this property has a last century tv set in the living room. . My family and friends decided staying because we were like 16 persons in total , and it would was hard to find a property for all together.

Owner's Response: We have been renting this property to vacation renters from across the US & 5 foreign countries for the past 7 years. Our reviews are outstanding as anyone can see and we keep this property in excellent condition. First of all there is no garage, and their claim about a sub lease is a complete fabrication. This group from Miami had more than 20 people coming and going in clear violation of the lease. We had call from our neighbors for the first three nights they were there and threatened to call the police for loud music and carrying on in a boisterous and vile manner. We were out of town and offered to have them leave immediately with a FULL refund. They refused and we had little choice under the circumstances. We use a commercial cleaner and the exterminator is there every 90 days. The bathrooms and kitchen are being remodeled this week and so is the damage they did to the property for spite in response to our complaints. This is the first time in 7 years we had to use a security deposit for damages and to give 3 neighbors dinner gift certificates for their trouble. Upon leaving, they threw trash and drove across the neighbors lawns. These were obviously low class people who do not even speak correct or intelligent English. Here is a copy of our certified letter to them; M & A, This letter is to confirm your violation of the lease you both signed dated April 9,2015. You indicated that there would be 6 adults & 2 children. There were far more than those occupants. Item #3 required that “you and your guests will respect the decorum expected by the neighbors. (Re; Late evening outdoor entertaining). We were called by several neighbors to complain about your guests playing excessive loud music, making noise, and jumping off the first floor rear porch into the pool. When confronting you in person, they were told “if they did not like it, to call 911”. This outrageous behavior and the damages done has led to a forfeit of your security.
