The main home offers a modern split floor plan, with a master suite and bath, including a jacuzzi tub and separate shower, on one end of the home, and 2 additional bedrooms with a bathroom and laundry room on the other. In between you'll find a full kitchen with island, dining area with valley views, comfortable living room with TV, DVR and stereo, half bath, and screened-in lanai with lounge chairs to sit back and soak in the lush greenery.

We are formerly of New York City and currently resident in Shanghai. Kauai is our family's spirit's home and we miss Hale Ohai when we are away.
The Owner purchased this house in 2005
On the Wailua River rim, our home is an oasis of calm and quiet. We look out over the valley and mountains - you can hear (and see) the Wailua River from our lanai where we often have breakfast, tea or just a quiet moment.
It's close to markets, restaurants and Lydgate Beach; equally easy to get to the North and South shores - convenient and peaceful at the same time. Ohai means monkeypod tree in Hawaiian and there is a lovely monkeypod tree on the property that shades and defines the home.
Our party of 3 adults had the pleasure of staying at this home for a week. I only wish I could have stayed longer. The house is immaculate and open and airy. You will not have to worry about air conditioning. I personally loved having my morning coffee on the lanai overlooking the valley and mountains. You can hear the sound of the river down below, very relaxing. It's located uphill from Kapa'a (the closest town) and is well situated to the airport and to explore both the North Shore and the South Shore. We did the whole island. Love Kauai! Love this place and hope to return again. FYI, we left Kauai at 75 degrees on Jan 4th and got back to Illlinois the next day where it was -15 degrees due to the Polar Vortex that affected much of the country. Talk about shock!
