Get what you pay for....

  • 2 of 5

Well, we got what we paid for. It was a low rate. The place seemed like a large hallway. There was no place to eat a meal. We had to use TV trays. a lot of regulations on what you could or could not do around the place. The long list of amenities is accurate, but you have to pay $6.00 per person to get the pass in order to use them. There is no Wi-Fi in the actual condo. If you want

Wi-Fi you you have to head to a community center. In the room information they indicate that Verizon and Sprint users should have good reception. We have Verizon. We had horrible data connections. Not that fault of the rental. But you should be aware that it is not a good connection by any stretch.

there was a condo adjacent to ours where a carpenter was staying at. The carpenter was working on that condo. he did not start his work before 8am or work after 6pm. But it was loud to listen to during the day. the 2nd day a condo next door had its roof replaced. That was loud all day. Of course, these are items that the renter cannot control. But I contacted the renter after our time was up at the condo. We never received a response. Seems as though they were not willing to work with us.

Owner's Response: Hi Margaret, I had no idea the neighbors would be doing remodeling work during your stay. It is within their rights as homeowners to do fix up during the day during the week. The resort is 5,600 acres in size, so I hope you used the other facilities like our business lounge, community center, etc., to move away from any noise. There is WiFi and cell phone service, but it can be spotty depending on your phone and computer equipment. The business lounge, community center, and other facilities in the resort can have better signals, so I hope you moved closer. Do come again! Tim

Better than a roach motel but not amenities would work

  • 2 of 5

So TV would not stay tuned to channel and would short out every other minute. The AC turned on for 3 minutes off for 10 minutes and repeated the process all night long right next to my head. There was no cell service or internet in the apartment. The neighbor was kinda scary drinking and screaming. Overall the place was clean but my husbands tea was crawling with ants in the morning after sitting it next to the bed overnight. Not the best or worst place I have staid.

Owner's Response: Hi Amanda, I believe you meant this review for another place you stayed. The TV and AC work perfectly at my condo and I have hosted dozens of guests with great reviews. The rest of your comments don't make sense. Take care.

Fantastic Opportunity to Experience 'Tiny-House Living', Wonderful Dinners, and the Beauty of Nature

  • 4 of 5

With this booking being extremely last-minute, we were unsure as to what to expect. Under the old adage of 'you get what you pay for', we went in with an understanding attitude...we came out with smiles on our faces! With this being the off-season, the rate we received for our two nights in this studio condo was the initial reason we booked. Being just the two of us, we figured we could surely stand to be in the same room with each other for two nights! For the hiking we had planned, it was perfect! We have hiked many of the trails in the Gatlinburg area but not in this area of North Carolina. What we discovered is that this area is every bit as beautiful with its gorgeous views and waterfalls but without the commercialism of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. There were also restaurants available very close by providing delicious food both nights. The owner of the unit, Tim, provided detailed information for everything we needed to know for our arrival, stay, and departure from our stay. The entire process was easy. We highly recommend this for a couple who likes to hike and enjoys good restaurants and shopping. There was too much for us to see in our two days due to the variety of offerings in the neighboring areas/towns of Highlands, Sylva, and Cullowhee. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was due to the cell phone reception in the area. If you need to be able to be contacted, reception is not always available. If you do not want to be reached, this is your spot!
