July in Ipswich
Beautiful water view, kitchen/ living area top notch, handy to great beaches. Ground floor sleeping arrangement felt like a being in a cellar with no bathroom handy. The dehumidifier kept waking up those who slept there. Nice, modern bathrooms, large 3rd floor master with alcove style bedroom beside it separated by a curtain. Ideal for a child. Great Neck is a lovely area of Ipswich , quiet, yet close to quaint shops and restaurants.
We enjoyed having you as guests. I should have told you to turn off the dehumidifier sorry it woke up your guests. We do our best to make everyone comfortable. There is also a new queen pull out sofa near the 2nd floor bathroom.
Very clean & bright w/ a good view of the ocean.
House was very clean, bright & comfortable. Good view of the water & Plum Island w/ a neighborhood beach within walking distance. One of bedrooms is located in the finished portion of the basement. Very good washer & dryer & lots of towels & beach chairs available.
Crane Beach in Ipswich is wonderful & can be reached by car for a fee or boat if available. Russell Orchard on Argilla Rd. on the way to Crane Beach sells great doughnuts, cider & ice cream. Berry picking is also available there.
Ipswich has houses that date back to the 1600s. Good places to eat are Riverview Pizza & Choate Bridge Pub, which has great seafood.
Thank you for your kind comments. We enjoyed having you. It's nice to have large families that respect the house. We love Ipswich with its great location close to Boston.
Spend your summer vacation here!
The house is perfect. I stayed by myself, this was an exercise in solitude and possibly one of my top vacations and much of it was this house. The views are spectacular, endless and available from every single window. The home is well appointed, comfortably furnished, tastefully decorated and spacious. There is access to the wrap around deck from just about anywhere you are standing. Turn, see the view, step out and soak it in.
I found it very hard to leave and explore the surrounding beauty, but when I did it was well worth it. It's a few minutes drive to Crane Beach and the main street of Ipswich, which has nice shops and some restaurants. Lots of activities very nearby. I highly recommend Windswept.
It warms our hearts to hear such glowing but true responses from our guests. We have had years of wonderful experiences renting this house. We love Ipswich and the area, and are glad people enjoy our house.
A GEM on the Plum Island Sound!
This was truly a gem of a find! A large, beautiful home located at Great Neck in Ipswich, overlooking the gorgeous Plum Island Sound. Perfect for a group of six--five adults, one child. Two twin beds that convert to a king on the lower floor, a fold out couch on the main floor--with a view to die for!, and an upstairs master with adjoining twin room on the upper floor. Two full baths that were modern and clean. A big, spacious kitchen with all amenities and new granite countertops. A large dining table perfect for card and game playing. A roomy patio with nice furniture, and a terrace that wraps around the house. Spectacular! Plus, beach umbrellas, small coolers, beach chairs, passes to two local beaches - including the scenic Crane Beach that sits beneath the stunning Crane Estate. Only five minutes, but worlds away, from downtown, historic Ipswich, the birthplace of America's independence. Visit www.historicipswich.org to take in a slice of America's history. Forty minutes north of Boston, or just over an hour to enjoy a lobster roll in Maine. Take the Duck Tour in Boston, walk the two mile Freedom Trail (self-guided tour), visit Fanueil Hall, Salem, and the charming coastal towns of Newburyport and Rockport. For all your Ipswich attire, visit The Jungle Store on Main St. Great quality and excellent pices. Lastly, do not leave Ipswich without indulging in the highly acclaimed Clam Box, home of the most scrumptious Little Neck clams and other delicious seafood. Look it up on Yelp or TripAdvisor. All in all, VRBO #123484 is the ideal home away from home when visiting the North Shore/greater Boston Area. On behalf of our family of six: twelve thumbs, WAY up! We will absolutely be back! Thank you!
