About Stacey Dodd
We have lived in the Charleston area for over 20 years and are so proud of our city. We love renovating these historic homes so that we can share them with others.
Stacey Dodd purchased this House in 2017
Why Stacey Dodd chose Ansonborough
This cottage caught our eye because of the incredible location and unique architecture and size. Downtown Freedman's cottages are a rarity and even more unique is one, such as this, residing in the lower peninsula. Freedman's cottages are a single story wood-framed structures with a gable roof and a piazza on the south side. This orientation is typical of Charleston's vernacular structures, a rhythm established by the long, narrow streets of the city. They are small but live big. Absolutely adorable and perfect for vacationing or short term living.
What makes this House unique
The location, size and architecture made us fall in love with this cottage. The construction allowed us to soundly and completely renovate it while maintaining it's original charm. This cottage is on the Historic Preservation Society tour of homes.
