This cozy cabin is located 1 mile from the center of Duck Creek Village in southern Utah south of Cedar City. Located within an hour of the cabin is Zion National Park, Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, Bryce Canyon National Park, Cedar Breaks National Monument, Panquitch Lake, Coral Pink Sand Dunes, and Brian Head Ski and Summer Resort. Many opportunities to mountain bike, canoe, hike, whitewater rafting, mountain climbing & rebelling, & caving are available in the beautiful surroundings.
In addition to a few mountain shops and stores, there are ATV’s available for rent in Duck Creek Village - and more than 500 miles of ATV and snowmobile trails surround the cabin! ATV trails (which can also be accessed by vehicle) lead to popular fishing spots such as Aspen Mirror Lake, Navajo Lake, and Duck Creek / Lake. Other nearby places to explore are the Ice Cave, Mammoth Creek Lava Caves, and Cascade Falls.
The cabin itself is nestled in the back of a large half-acre lot covered in aspen and pine trees. Behind the cabin is a picnic table & benches, fire pit, and very peaceful surroundings secluded from the road. On the front deck we often see deer, turkey, and birds. The cabin sleeps 6-8 people at no additional cost. There are 3, queen beds in all bedrooms and upstairs loft as well as a queen inflatable air mattress and a child's Pac-n-Play bed.
DirectTV satalite service, highspeed wireless internet and land line for local calls provided for fun and to check-in with work if necessary.
The wood burning stove, in the center of the cabin, creates a wonderful aroma and keeps the cabin very warm. Board games and cards as well as books & 25+ movies are provided in the common area. Additional entertainment is in the basement, which includes Foosball and pool tabl.
This cabin is the perfect vacation get away for families and friends! Please email me for additional pictures, maps or Guest Info Packet. NOTE: ALL bed linens, bath towels, hand towels, washcloths are provided at no additional fees.

We work hard & like to play hard and enjoy outdoor activities. Duck Creek provides such a variety of opportunities for fun & excitement. Just leaving the craziness of Las Vegas & the 100+ temperatures for the cooler scenic views of UT is a true blessing. We were able to purchase our cabin at such a great price so we enjoy passing the savings on to others and aim to keep them affordable.
Valerie Edwards purchased this cabin in 2011
We absolutely love the outdoors and with so many National Treasures surrounding Duck Creek, it is simply the best place to be. The Piute ATV Trails are right down the road and with our ATV’s, we can leave for an entire day of riding and then sit back and enjoy a glass of wine on the deck while BBQ and socializing with friends & family. Having annual passes at the National parks allow us to share our joy of the outdoors with our kids, grandchild and our son's Boy Scout Troop.
My husband and I stayed here for a week to visit the Bryce & Zion. This cabin was just perfect. Very clean and well maintain and nicely decorated. Owner was just wonderful to work with and very helpful with maps and suggestions. I would recommend this to everyone.
Loved this cabin! We stayed here in August 2016 for 8 nights with 9 members of our family and friends. There was plenty of room for all of us. The house and land around are VERY beautiful - the photo does not do it justice. We visited Bryce Canyon, Zion and Cedar Breaks National Monument. It was a lovely place to relax after a full day of sightseeing. We loved the fully equipped kitchen and the fire pit in the evening. Plenty of dishes & cookware. We also appreciated the early checkin time that Valerie was able to give us. We were well informed on what are provided in the cabin, and Valerie did make sure that supplies are stocked up for us all 8-9 days. It is clean and lot's of room to move around. Loved the 3 levels of the cabin, gave us enough room to spread out..grown ups on one level kid's on another.
The Owner responded promptly to all my questions. The cabin is located between Zion NP and Bryce. Very impressed.
Planing on to come back every year to escape Arizona Heat.
Cabin, Area, Owner = A+++++++
THANK YOU Valerie.
We enjoyed our stay at the Chillin' Post in Duck Creek Village. The house is clean, well kept and well furnished. Kitchen is well stocked. The only "home improvement" I can think of would be a vent and fan in the bathroom, to help with moisture from showers. A bit snug for our family of six, including two young adult boys, but we managed fine for 3 nights. We visited Zion and Bryce while we were there. Duck Creek Village is a bit more "rustic" than I expected, with gravel roads throughout the town. Not a big deal, though, I just wasn't expecting that! The owner of this house is a great host! Very communicative, answered all of our questions promptly, which was great! Provided us with very detailed info and instructions.
What an amazing vacation we had! I'll start by saying, Valerie is extremely kind and always looking out for the best interest of her guests! She went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. The cabin was simply beautiful, waking up to deer to the awesome fire pit, everything was perfect! I can't wait to visit again next year!! If your looking for a comfortable and FUN vacation booked your stay with Valerie at the chillin' post in duck creek village!
P.s: If I could recommend one more thing, it would be exploring Duck Creek in Polaris razors(aka rhinos). Follow the trails and soak in the beauty of Utah!
We used this cabin as our home base for doing day trips to Zion and Bryce. We also wound up exploring the Duck Creek area more that we expected - it is really cool. We highly recommend renting a 2-seater offroading vehicle in town and riding around on the endless trails around the area - this was maybe the highlight of the trip.
My only caution to other renters is that everything in Dick Creek closes really early. We arrived back from Zion one night around 8pm and there were no restaurants or stores open, not even a gas station to get snacks from, so we had popcorn for dinner that night :) You need to plan to get your groceries as the store is pretty far away and is only open during the day.
The house is really cozy and has everything you need. The owner si very responsive and helpful as well.
Last thing, the road to get there is quite steep and rocky so dont arrive with a nice sedan that you dont want to get scratched.
As always we had a fantastic time chillin at the post!!! Already booked next year!!
Great people to deal with, great communication! !! Awesome cabin.
Thanks again! !!
This was a great place to stay for our visit to Duck Creek Village. It was right in the heart of the village and easily accessible to various activities. There were deer in the backyard even! The house was clean and the owner was extremely responsive and helpful. She provided not only detailed instructions for accessing the cabin, but also listings of books and dvds in the cabin, types of local attractions, and nearby food places. She provided information that we may not have otherwise known (such as there is no grocery store in duck creek). The park ranger even took a photocopy of one of her handouts listing the forest/park attractions! We used the fire pit, marshmallow roasting sticks, grill, kids' books, and television/satellite. It was great for our stay with a family of 4 but would get a little cozy if you had more two different families because of the closeness of the bedrooms and the one bathroom. One of the bedrooms is a loft that overlooks the downstairs living area which is not very private. This same room gets a lot of light from the early morning sun through the gorgeous large front windows. The entry doors can be a little tricky to open and lock, but we were able to do it easily after a few tries. Steps were a little steep with limited railings so I wouldn't recommend for older or less mobile individuals.
Horseback riding in Bryce, Hiking in Zion, Cedar Breaks, Escalante/Grand Staircase..., Whitewater rafting on the Sevier River in Marysvale, Ski in Brian Head, fish at one of many surrounding lakes, ATV/snowmobile on the vast Piute trails throughout UT or simply relax and enjoy the great outdoors & the wildlife. Still not enough, spelunking, mountain biking, rock climbing & repelling should get the juices flowing!
