Jeff and Linda welcome you to our private guest house on our fenced in secure property. We are perfect for small families, couples, singles and business people. Our guest house has all of the amenities of home with a fully furnished and applianced kitchen and washer/dryer. Since we are dog friendly you also have your own private fenced in secure dog yard attached to the guest house. We are close to all Providence colleges and wonderful Downtown Providence. Private outdoor seating/dining area.
Dog friendly with private fenced/secure dog yard exclusively for you. Private fenced in parking with remote control gate for entrance/exit. Incredibly SAFE private off street parking behind an electronic gate. Close to local restaurants, bakery, food stores and 24 hour Walgreens (all walking distance). 2 separate sleeping areas, the main room (shares the common room) has a queen size bed with a fold out couch/bed. Other bedroom has double bed with sitting area, fully applianced kitchen w/fridge/freezer, microwave, stove/oven, washer/dryer, coffee maker, electric kettle, toaster oven, blender, all kitchen utensils, all cookware supplied. All rooms are heated and have a/c (window units for a/c). Kitchen and common room are an open floor plan and there is plenty of room in bedrooms for clothes storage. You have a 40" TV in the main room with cable. You also have your own high speed FIOS Wifi router with 50/50 internet which is very fast, so you will not be sharing internet with us, it is all yours which dramatically increases the upload and download speed. The blow up mattress and the porta-crib are not permanent furniture and can be brought in and out of the cottage as needed. There is a outside storage unit that holds your beach equipment, 4 towels, 2 adult and 2 toddler Boogie Boards, 2 beach chairs and a beach cart to get it from your car to the beach.
You will have 1 private off street parking spot in our personal driveway that is secured by a motorized electronic gate that you get a remote control as long as keys to the cottage when you check in. You have 3 doors that go into your private cottage. You have a private dog run as well as private yard that has a sitting area as well as a place for children to safely play as well as outside seating and dining. If you bring a dog it must be crated when you are not in the cottage and we do not allow dogs on the furniture or bed. We can supply a crate for you if needed.
Though you are on our personal property, you are staying in a private guest house in your own area. The wonderful thing about our property is that other then check in you may never see us at all and we will respect your privacy. You can always call or text us for whatever you need. It is possible if you do not want to have interaction with us you don't have to. Our property and your guest house is separated by security gates so you can have the utmost privacy and security as well as us. We are big on respecting your privacy, and we are a phone call or a text away. Jeff travels often for business and Linda homeschools our children as well as runs her business from the home. Depending on the day of the week and time of year, you may not see us at all, but we are always avl for any issues that arise. In the warm months we are home and you will often see/hear the kids playing outside during the day. You can go the whole time without interacting us if you choose, but we are extremely responsive to phone calls and texts.
It is a multi cultural neighborhood, with bakeries, convenience stores, 24 hour Walgreens, multiple restaurants (Los Andes is our favorite), also Spanish, Thai, Italian and delis to eat at. It is a working class neighborhood, with mostly single and double family houses (though the house across the street is a 6 unit building) that are owner occupied. We have a elementary, high school and Rhode Island College all within walking distance to us. It is a very safe place to go for a walk/run, walk your dog and take a bike ride. We have owned the the house since 2003, and have and continue to raise our children here. You are close to Routes 95-195 and route 10.
We live on 2 bus lines #56 and the #92, with easy access to Downtown Providence and Provdence Place Mall as well as Federal Hill and the Historic East Side of Providence. Uber and taxis are a convenient way to get around town. We are 15 minutes from our local airport TF Green. The #56 bus can be taken from the train station to our home. Both Newport and Boston are about 1 hour away.
We live in a busy city and there can be moments of loud noise, ie: fire station is 2 blocks away, the guest cottage is up against the street so there can be street noise. We have dogs on the property that will bark when you arrive on the property and there may be moments of barking during your stay, up to a few minutes at a time once and a while between the hours of 7am-10pm. We live on the property as well, and we love our privacy and quiet enjoyment so we do our best to create that for you. Just want to make sure that you understand that this is a city environment with basic city noises, but with all owner occupied houses in the area, people pay a lot of attention to their homes and the living environment in the neighborhood. Any question feel free to ask before you book. Our family starts our day at 6:45am each day, meaning heading to gym, feeding the dog, leaving for work etc..we do have a white noise machine as well as ear plugs avl for you if you are a light sleeper.
