About Suzette

Sea Star Leasing and Management has over 20 years (plus if you include our "key" employees)! We love Destin and the Harbor life! It has a diversity of beach side activities, this exclusive & private location, quick access to the harbor for boating, and the great warm weather! We never get enough of the sandy beach, the water and the relaxing views. Destin Sands is my mom's favorite vacation spot because she actually relaxes on the sofa while we cook in the kitchen. Grandma and the kiddos take in the views, sunset, or fireworks during the summer through out the week (Tuesday & Thursdays ) also weekends ( Saturday nights only in the winter) after dinner. Tues, Thursday, and Saturdays can be scheduled in for your stay with fireworks during the summer. The 4th of July has a private Firework show just yards away from our balcony for viewing with the neighborhood show immediately following on the 4th of July! Call for details if your kiddos love to watch the fireworks for times so you an have a moment when they've fallen fast asleep after a fun day on the shore building sandcastles, renting water craft for your dock access, or just playing in the waves.

What makes this condo unique

Boat slip included, beach across the street, and views from every window with privacy without the public beach access. Top floor ( 2nd story is top floor), end unit provides better view, living area has vaulted ceilings giving an aired feeling, access by boat or jet ski, make you feel like your living in a comparable home to the million dollar home across the street. Cozy and comfortable for staying longer periods of time or a short stay / getaway. Our beach access just is across the street to the west about 3 homes on the boardwalk, for your family memories and romantic getaways. You can parasail just off the beach here across from Destin Sands or have the parasailing boat captain dip you in the water across from where your retreat/getaway. A waterproof camera is perfect...please send us pictures because we love to see our Dolphin, sea turtle or manatee Neighbors. Also, it's nice to share ( and post on social media) your family having the time of their life! No names for privacy, on pictures please.

Texas, origins in South Dakota and New Jersey

Loved the beach access. The location was off the busy road, but offered quick access to all Destin has to offer. Suzette was quick to respond and a pleasure to talk to.

A few things kept me from giving a 5.

As noted in another review, the patio door was a bear to open. The kitchen was not in shape to really cook anything. The stove/oven needs repair or replacement.

Would suggest the owner invests in a digital antenna for those of us that like to watch regular local programing, like the news.

I wish we could put a satellite up, but the HOA does not allow for those, Sling provides over 300 channels, on demand for everyone Viewing Options. Thanks, again for the kitchen appliance request...I have addressed this item for you. Our maintenance team is not behind on their punch lists and completing all items. The sliding door window was replaced, so we will look back into it again. The double paned windows make it heavier. Ryan, our maintenance crew can easily correct it to slide smoothly with their quick service call. Thanks, Suzette

Nothing special and still waiting for refund of overcharge

This unit promoted as updated is in very much the same condition as it was in our stay there ten years ago. Sliding glass door to balcony requires the strength of a gorilla to open and vertical blinds that fall off when opened. Two of the three television sets did not work and the one that did uses Roku which is not user friendly and has limited options. Bathtub drains very slowly, leaving you with a soap scum mess to clean after each use. Don't think putting up with these issues and leaving the place in order gets you any credit with the owner/manager, either. Almost three weeks and no refund of deposit or overcharges (charged for pet which was denied; didn't stop her from charging me for it, though). If paying top dollar for a very average rental with issues and getting poor treatment from the owner sounds good to you, by all means take it but at least read the rental agreement carefully first, it's enough to make you look elsewhere.

We have new glass on the sliding door, as of Sept 2017, bathtub is draining well since you did not want maintenance dropping by, and blinds do need regular adding due to usage. We have all items addressed immediately so our guests are comfortable. I do recommend not marking for your pet, so your not charged on your instant booking. We did have your refund for you not bringing your furry friend, and do understand the 21 days was a bit longer than normal. It seems Homeaway is returning the deposit 14-21 days after departure... I believe they started their new deposit regulations the time you stayed with us. And, yes we have flat screens throughout the home. We updated the sling instructions, and hope all 300 channels keep everyone happy with Viewing Options! Thanks, Suzette

Wonderful beachside holiday

We spent 4th of July week here in this wonderful home and beachside community. The most beautiful private community beach is a short skip or bike ride down the path. We are hoping to make this an annual family trip and can't wait for our next visit!

When you arrive, the home will be clean and set up with linens and as a courtesy we have included the following list of supplies to accommodate you. Bath Towels, hand towels, wash clothes, paper towels, dishwasher soap, hand soap, toilet paper.Pets allowed only at Destin Sands upon approval and under 35 pounds due to Homeowner Association Guidelines. Guests who bring pets need carrier for pet to not be alone without supervision. There is an extra daily fee $15/day for first pet , etc& $50 for pet extra cleaning to keep our home comfortable for the next guest.
This is a non-smoking home. You are permitted to smoke outdoors on the balcony. Butts are to be disposed of properly and not left anywhere on the property. Any violation of the smoking will incur a fine and if additional cleaning is necessary to remove smoke odors from the home.
