About the property

Come enjoy our modern rustic farmhouse on a very quiet 10 acres with a pond and creek that runs through the back acreage. It nestled at the end of a semi-hidden dirt road just 27 minutes (14 miles) from downtown St Augustine. While it has two neighbors you can see on either side of the property, it is also surrounded by hundreds of acres of natural forest in the front and rear.

This is our custom built home we escape to on weekends. We built it with painstaking detail with the intention of living here full time. It turned out to be a little too far for our daily lives around Jacksonville. Now we want to share it with you!

There are 5 bedrooms:

Master with king bed, working gas fireplace and own full bath (shower only)

Office/Bedroom off master with crib (this room can only be accessed via the Master)

Bedroom with full bed and private full bath with shower & tub

Bedroom with two twins that shares main full bath with shower & tub

Bedroom with 4 twins (bunk bed) that shares main full bath with shower & tub


Fully equipped kitchen with gas burners and double oven

High end fridge, dishwasher and microwave

K Cup Coffee Maker

Washer and dryer

Alexa for music, news and weather

Living Room:

Large LED TV with Direct TV and DVD Player

Wi-Fi - Because our property is in a semi-rural area the wi-fi is a cellular hotspot. It works well for email, internet surfing, etc. It usually works well for streaming, but I cannot promise it will always stream well.

Pool (with locked baby gate) Note: Don't choose our place for the pool. It's not that great and it needs to be refinished. It's fine to cool off in during the hot months and we do use it with our own kids.

Property: -As of this description (12/30/17) the grounds are not well manicured (but being worked on) and are very wooded

The area immediately around the house is always cut and maintained but you don't have to go far to see overgrowth and areas that could use clean up

10 relaxing acres - the property is very long but not as wide (you will not see neighbors out the front or back but you can somewhat see them on either side)

The pond is at the half way point of the property and is about a quarter acre large. Though I have yet to fish it, there are fish in it and we have two fishing poles there for you to use.

Six Mile Creek runs through the back of the property and sometimes it is accessible if it hasn't rained a lot. It is usually a very small and somewhat flowing creek surrounded by swamp. **The creek is not navigable here by boat, kayak, etc.

The front few acres are fairly cleared for walking around, hanging out, etc.

I have a road cut that loops around the back of the property. There are some side trails as well for exploring.

There is a fully enclosed trampoline behind the house - that is locked. PLEASE DO NOT USE.

The house is located at the end of a dirt road off the end of a dead end paved road - it is usually very quiet

**IMPORTANT NOTE: because it is still a semi-rural area you will sometimes hear gunfire from hunters or neighbors in the daytime


Because this property is surrounded by lots of forest there are deer on the property every night. You may or may not see them. We also have turkeys moving through the property regularly as well as the occasional wild hog. There is an abundance of birds and it's fairly common to see and/or hear large red-tailed and red-shouldered hawks as well as some large owls. ***Because it is Florida and a semi-rural area always watch for snakes!!***

Guest access

Guests can access the entire house and property, except the garage.

We live about 30 to 40 minutes from the property. You will not see us unless an emergency or special request occurs.

38 minutes (29 miles) to major shopping (Ikea, St Johns Town Center in Jacksonville - add 15 to 20 minutes at times if traffic is heavy 38 minutes (34 miles) to downtown Jacksonville

11 minutes (6.7 miles) to St Augustine Premium Outlet Malls

Closest Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts is 13 minutes (7.1 miles)

11 minutes (4.4 miles) to a decent grocery store (Publix)

Getting around

YOU NEED A CAR. There is nothing you can get to on foot from our property.

Other things to note:

I have two RV hook ups. One 30 amp and one 50 amp if you want to bring your camper and hook up shore power. I do not have a dump station but there is a well run RV park 8 minutes away (5.5 miles) that will allow you to dump for $7.

-Check in is 3pm and checkout is 12pm, unless otherwise agreed to prior to booking

- Major outside noise on the property should cease at 10pm

- We love dogs! Please tell us about yours for consideration on the stay

- Dogs must be on a flea treatment

- No cats

- No use of the trampoline in the back!! Not on our homeowners policy

- Please treat our home as you would your own

- No overnight guests of guests without prior approval

- No illegal activity on the property - ie: drug use, misuse of internet

- Do not leave food outside to attract unwanted animals

- Dogs must be clean, house trained and well behaved

- $200 cleaning fee

I felt like I was staying in the pages of one of designer Joanne Gaines' Houses!

Grey Fox Farmhouse feels like I'm staying inside one of Joanne Gaines' Fixer Upper Farmhouses. The owners did an incredible job on this home. LOVE the open floor plan, well appointed kitchen, and gorgeous design. Everything we needed was there including extras like kids toys and games. It's located on quiet land and our stay was very peaceful! The owners were incredible to work with-- probably the most accommodating and kind owners I've ever worked with! I highly recommend this incredible home for a stay in St. Augustine!

The Grey Fox Farmhouse was a beautiful home and a wonderful stay. The owners spared no expense when it came to the details inside. Kip was delightful to rent from and made sure everything was top notch. It doesn't get much better than this.
