The Acadia National Park loop road and carriage roads are 15 minutes away. The park has over 70 miles of carriage roads and bridges constructed by John D. Rockefeller, all designated only for hiking and biking. The island's only organic farm is 10 minutes away, near Somesville, with fresh fruits and vegetables available throughout the summer. Sailing lessons and kayak rentals are available in town. Sailing excursions are available in Northeast Harbor and Bar Harbor. The island's finest sunsets are 5 minutes away in Bass Harbor, with 2 pier-front restaurants.
